Very nice doctor with obvious skills

After many tests and a few appointments he re-diagnosed me with the IBS that I've already had for 30 years. I knew this wasn't IBS and told him. This was different and debilitating. I would sit at my desk and vomit daily while in nauseous misery, and have horrible attacks. He wasn't willing to look any farther and I suffered immensely for many years. His wrong diagnosis also came with no treatment. So, several years later I went to another Gastroenterologist who almost immediately diagnosed me with Gastroparesis. Same symptoms exactly as with Dr. Brann. I had CLASSIC Gastroparesis symptoms....I just don't understand how he could have missed this. I didn't just have one appointment with him, he had so many opportunities. He was condescending and wrote it all off as IBS due to stress and depression. Dr. Brann, I understand that doctors are not perfect and make mistakes, but in this circumstance it was inexcusable and debilitating. It affected my life negatively in so many ways that I… cannot begin to share them all.

He cured my Hep C

Only saw and spoke to him for a minute before being put to sleep for a colonoscopy. This was my 2nd procedure with him. I felt very comfortable with his finding, actions and follow up.

No doubt, he knows his field, but... After having my endoscopy done by doctor Brann and finding no "major" issues, was the last time I saw/communicated with the doctor. Even though the symptoms continued, my followup visit was performed by doctors assistant or intern who not only did not have any clue about my history, but did not show any desire to figure out what's wrong. Consider me another "not serious" patient...

I have no reason to doubt the skill of Dr. Brann nor did I find it difficult to get an appointment with him. However, he is not a good listener, which is frustrating to a patient who takes pride in communicating well and with considerable specificity and who likes to be sure the doctor fully understands him and his condition. Dr. Brann prefers to talk, usually to display his medical knowledge. While it is good to know that the doctor knows what he is talking about, it is also important for the doctor to know what the patient is talking about. I get the idea that Dr. Brann is one of those physicians who is a bit too taken with himself and a bit condescending toward his patients. That's too bad because other wise he's a nice guy.
