Dr. Serrano was a wonderful surgeon to work with. The explained things fully and was always honest which I respected. The surgery went wonderfully and I was out of the hospital in two days instead of the 4-5 days that was initially expected. His team at Hartford Hospital treated with great care and respect throughout everything. I could not have asked for anything better. Thank you!

Wish I could give 10 stars. My grandmother has pancreatic cancer. Other doctors told her it was non-receptacle. Finally we were referred to Dr. Serrano. He called that same day, Friday. He’d seen her scans and felt she was a surgery candidate. He would see her Monday morning. She fell terribly ill before then. He said to bring her right in. They would stabilize her and start prepping for a next-week surgery. After 3 days, she stabilized, but she still could barely eat or drink anything without intense pains. He moved the surgery up. Gave her 4 days to get strong. Although he was off duty that weekend, he checked on her every day. Numerous doctors and health professionals we met said if they needed a Whipple, they’d want him to do it. Impeccable record. Immaculate skill. He had never done this procedure on someone her age, nor had a patient who didn’t take blood before. He took time to learn her wishes exactly. He was careful, and minimized blood loss. She is now recovering… beautifully. This is the surgeon you want.
