Dr. Oscar Sotelo, MD

Dr. Sotelo did not answer my question regarding my skin condition when asked repeatedly and offered no explanation for my symptoms or what he observed at all. He disregarded what symptoms I described completely. I felt very uncomfortable as another reviewer has stated. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone ever. I really have to wonder if many of these 5 star reviews are fake.

Waited an hour to see him even though I had a scheduled appointment which wasn’t the issue I don’t mind waiting , once he saw me he was very rude and short and when I’d ask him for information due to my concerns he would try to belittle you and make you feel dumb until I literally had to put him in his place I was very surprised by the way he was acting it seemed he didn’t even want to be there at that point in time. It seemed he hated his job to be honest but other than that I couldn’t even talk to him about other issues I had due to him making me feel uncomfortable. I had been to his office 3 times prior and saw another doctor named Dr. Solis who was very helpful and intelligent and I was hoping to see him rather than Sotello due to Sotello being a very negative person it seemed. Due to his actions I will not be returning and I don’t recommend him at all. If you go request Dr. Solis who is also at the same office and much more positive and understanding.

This guys is more interested in having you comeback several times so he can bill your insurance rather than curing you.

Took and hour to see the Doctor which is typical most places. Once I saw the Doctor he was curt and frank to the point he was rude. I answered his questions trying to explain my skin issue; however, he stated I had no issue then continued to insult my intelligence till I had to put him in his place. I've seen a few quacks in the RGV, but this guy takes 1st place.

I am a former Dr. Sotelo's patient. He is very knowledgeable. I will go to his office again, for my other birth marks to be removed. I did recommend him to my friends, already. I never felt uncomfortable in his office. Nor can I say he is rude. He is joking :-) People, don't be too serious :-)

I went to visit Dr. Sotelo for my acne issues. I was very pleased with my visit. He was very professional on how he explained to me about my problem. After a month of treatment i have seen a tremendous improvement, and I never realized that certain oily foods have an effect on acne. Dr Sotelo cares about his patients and has a very great sense of humor during visits. I highly recommend him for your dermatologist.

He was extremely rude & made me feel uneducated when asking him questions every time I went. Went several times & could not determine my problem. He likes to flirt with his assistants & when I didn't go to the appointment with a friend he told me to stay away from certain foods like nuts the both kind & laughed at me. His assistant felt uncomfortable but made a look like it was usual for him to talk like that. Not happy at all but that's just my experience.

He is a great doctor. I am a former patient of his and he helped me get rid of a skin disorder. He is a tremendous individual who cares for his patients.
