Dr. Otilia Capellan, MD

Went to the emergency room in Starke, FL. Dr. Capellan is working there now. I had a fish bone stuck in my throat. She did not even look in my throat. What's up with that? My wife looked down my throat and saw some trauma. Wasted my 3 hours. Starke emergency and Dr. Capellan, never again.

I went to the emergency room suffering extreme back pain from fracturing a vertebrae during a seizure. Dr. Capellan made little effort to diagnose my injure despite my obvious extreme pain. She didn't even take an x-ray. All that was done was to feel my back a little, stick a catheter in me because I was in too much excruciating pain to pee and send me on my way with a prescription for ibuprofen. Later in the week my neurologist suspected a fracture and ordered an MRI which revealed the fracture. I suffered needlessly for 2 weeks before I was treated with surgery which could have been shortened if she had made an effort to diagnose my problem. On top of that she was very rude to my wife.

She is impatient and unfriendly. My husband had a seizure last night and was sent to emergency room in the very early morning. She asked me what happened. I answered he had two seizures in a row. She said" hey let me say it. Describe what happened." Actually she did not find out my husband was having a mild one at the moment when she asked him questions. His eyes were wide open, staring at the ceiling for quite several seconds, no any response. When she came back and told me he had seizure caused by Trazodone, I asked her to talk on phone with my sister in law due to the lack of my English terminology. She was very reluctant to do so. They were not busy at that time. I wonder what really caused his seizure. He had his first seizure in Key West. Doctors there suspected it's Sertraline that caused it because he took it two times. They did not say anything about Trazodone he has been taking about 25 years.
