Prompt, effective and courteous care

Dr. Otto Susec saw my wife who had low blood pressure and was dying. She passed out twice in the past three days at home.Her doctor thought it was from an infection but Dr. Susec thought it was not do to an infection or her heart or her blood counts. Her blood pressure was getting worse and worse and the internist wanted to her send her home. Dr. Susec refused the internist and demanded that she get admitted. Dr. Susec gave her steriods because he suspected an underactive adrenal gland, and he was right. I'm s glad that he advocated for my wife and saved her life not to mention that he figured out what was wrong when no one else could.

No one could as quickly arrive at the diagnosis as him when no one else could for years

I would first like to affirm that Dr. Susec is very brilliant. You can tell he is in medicine for the right reasons. I’ve usually had very pleasant interactions with him and felt safe and validated in his care during an emergency, but my most recent visit really made me question how genuine he truly is. It is never okay to diagnose and treat the patient before laying eyes on them. It is never okay to make them feel like less of a person because they’ve had to seek emergency care more than you find appropriate. It is never okay to make them feel as if they should be ashamed of having chronic pain. It is never okay to make them feel like a “junkie”. Dr. Susec was well within his rights to order any medical treatment he saw fit and I appreciate him taking the time to see me. However, I do not feel as if I was listened to, nor do I feel as if my opinion was taken into consideration for said treatment. I left Dr. Susec’s care not only in the same amount of distress I arrived in, but also… ashamed for being in it. Very disappointed in him as a person, however, would still trust and recommend him to anyone needing care.

Dr. Susec saved my child’s life... he was quick to act, so knowledgeable, thorough, thoughtful, everything you could want in a doctor when your child is in danger... thank you Dr. Susec!!!

Very thorough and friendly

Stood out as an efficient person who was knowledgable and confident. I had two doctors who previously misdiagnosed me but he saw right through the errors and Omissions. Frankly, he probably save me years of misery and expense and maybe my life. Thank god there are down to earth and impressive doctors like him. Thanks you!
