Dr. Owen Russell Mclean, MD

Great visit. Wait time was short. PA listened to my concerns and a plan of action agreed to. Dr McLean’s review and concerns were discussed.

I would like to take the time to commend wonderful Dr. Mclean, the wonderful CRNA, the wonderful office staff, the wonderful nursing staff, even the actual building and yes, the bathroom cleaning team for their EXCELLENCE, PROFESSIONALISM, KINDNESS, COURTESY and EFFICIENCY!!! Having just experienced an actual traumatic stay at what is supposed to be the most efficient and professional care in the ICU at one of Birmingham’s largest hospitals with a family member, to be able to come here and experience EVERYTHING DONE RIGHT was indeed a blessing and greatly appreciated!!! As a retired CRNA and former ICU RN, I know excellent, safe, professional care because I spent my entire career giving just that to my patients and to their families!!! Where one system has completely failed in Birmingham, this medical team exemplifies everything that should be done for patients and their families!!! Dr. Mclean was very kind, personable, assuring and very professional! He did not treat you as just… another “number” and just “another procedure”! I know it is not always easy to be “all smiles” and “energetic” so very early in the morning; but, every team member was so very kind, greeted you with a smile and was very courteous… from the office staff when you signed in, to the very polite gentleman who rolled me out to my car! I truly do want everyone commended on their excellence, including housekeeping! Just entering the Building 2, there was such a freshness and the restroom was gleaming clean and fresh! As a patient and a family member and as a retired medical professional, this all absolutely does matter in instilling a confidence of cleanliness and concern for health and hygiene!!! (I strongly emphasize even this as, again, the experience I just had in one of the biggest hospitals in Birmingham had disgusting restrooms, which was the only one available for families of ICU patients!!!) For every patient who has an appointment with Dr. Mclean and this entire team… you are lucky and fortunate; and, you can rest assured you are getting excellent care!!! Sincerely, Elisa C.

Dr McLean is always very through, compassionate and caring! He makes you feel at ease.

Dr. McLean did my daughter's endoscopy and was extremely informative about her results to me after her procedure. I would choose to see him myself if I lived closer to Birmingham.

He was able to diagnose Crohn’s in my small bowel, gastroparesis of my stomach and intussuception of my bowel...etc. I’ve been to countless GI doctors who have done nothing for me. This man is amazingly intelligent. He is a doctor’s doctor.

Dr. McClean is a kind and compassionate doctor and takes a serious interest in his patient and what they have to say, which these days is hard to find. He is both professional and considerate and Iwould definately rec' him to my friends and family.

Dr. Mclean is an excellent doctor.
