Love this man! He is patient, concerned and listens. He will spend an hour with you if that is what is needed.

Spends so much time to make sure he really understands your problems and follows up to make sure treatment works!

I am forever thankful for the quick action Dr Christopher Gottschalk took after I suffered a terrible fall in Milford, CT. I was treated with class every time I was seen in his office. He followed through on my recovery through phone calls with me and conversations with other specialists who were caring for me during my recovery. His bedside manner was professional and compassionate. There are not enough words to express my gratitude.

Think of a moment when you experienced something intense for the first time. You may have had an idea of what to expect, but nothing could have prepared you. The death of a relative, breaking a bone, you get the point. Similarly, I thought I knew exactly what a routine visit to a doctor would be like until I was graced with the cold, condescending, arrogant, and belittling presence of Dr. Gottschalk.I was genuinely shocked at the way he treated me like a child with no agency of my own. Who lets these people graduate medical school? This man shouldn't be allowed near people in general, let alone those with medical conditions. If you care at all about your health and dignity, avoid at all costs. I'd sooner ask the mailman to treat my head trauma than return to the h*ll that they call Dr. Gottschalk's office.

As soon as I walked in the door, I was verbally assaulted for being tardy. I immediately felt like Dr. Gottschalk was abusing me. Similar to an interrogation, Dr. Gottschalk accused me of lying on a multitude of my symptoms that heavily suffered for the last 13 years. The star system given to me was inadequate of correctly representing Dr. Gottschalks bedside manner. I truly feel awful for anyone who has come in contact with this monster. This experience was similar to a visit to my elementary school nurse, Mrs. Jones. The only thing Dr. Gottschalk succeeded in accomplishing in my entire visit was adding another symptom to my list: severe anxiety.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I have been suffering from debilitating chronic migraines for the last 3 years and after exhausting several migraine specialists and dozens of meds, I went to see Dr. Gottschalk at Yale. Dr. Gottschalk was the most arrogant, condescending, incompetent physician I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. He accused me of being a liar and I left my appointment feeling hopeless and violated. He was not willing to take the time to assess my complex medical case. Please, for all you migraine sufferers out there, do not waste your time and energy with Dr. Gottschalk. I would hate for anyone else to go through such a dehumanizing experience with zero pain relief.

On multiple occasions Dr. Gottschalk was discurteous, belittling, curt, and abrasive. He is easily aggrevated in which he gets red faced and then proceeds to scold you like a child. He is unwilling to listen to his patient as only his opinion matters. Given his lack of interpersonal skills, mean demeanor and unprofessionalism are all clear signs that he should either take an early retirement or go into research.

It takes months to get an appt, and he's not worth the wait. If it's a clear-cut neurological problem that fits standard treatment, then he suffices. But if it's a complicated issues that requires "out of the box" thinking and connecting the dots, go elsewhere.

No exaggeration, the wait time to see dr. Gottschalk is ALWAYS over two hours. Even scheduling an appointment first thing in the morning is moot. He is a brilliant physician, however after being so rudely left waiting fo all five of my visits over the past few years, I am now going to go to a neurologist that that cares enough about his patients well being to not make them sit in over crowded waiting rooms for hours on end. There are many other excellent neurologists affiliated with the Yale Medical Group that are just as talented as dr Gottschalk, and that treat their patients with respect, however-I just dont have the head to walk into that practice any more. Sad.

Very focused on human element of medicine as well as being an excellent doctor. I am thankful for him.
