Dr. Packy A. Huettman Jr., DO

Dr. Huettman was my primary care provider from 2011 to 2018, and, as such, his main function was to interpret blood test results from annual physicals, and, to refer his patient to the appropriate specialist in the event of any abnormal results. For the years 2016, 2017, and, 2018 my blood results showed abnormal and highly elevated blood protein levels, which he ignored. In 2017 when I asked him about these numbers he told me no one has perfect numbers, that I needn't be concerned, and, that I was probably dehydrated. After 2016 I repeatedly reported tongue blood blisters, tongue swelling, and mild left hand numbness (neuropathy), all of which I now know to be classic symptoms of amyloidosis. Dr. Huettman's knowledge of this was non-existent, and, he failed to recognize it, or, do anything about it. When finally referred to a hematologist in 2018, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma/amyloidosis, a blood cancer that is usually caught through blood test results (elevated protein… levels). Amyloid cells had two years to multiply and spread causing irreversible damage to an organ. I am now facing possible end-of-life, when, if this had been caught two years earlier in 2016, would have been easily treatable before organ damage occurred. Dr. Huettman is negligent, and, incompetent in dealing with more complex health issues, and endangers patients. He has likely cost me my life, and, in my opinion, should not be practicing medicine, and endangering the lives of any other patients.

This man should not be practicing medicine. His knowledge base of basic care is average. His ability to overcome his limitations in dealing with slightly more complex health issues is non existent. He then endangers the patient rather than helping. All from a fear of inadequacy and lack of proper knowledge of treatment options.
