Dr. Padmaja Chilakapati, MD

We first started seeing Dr. C when my son had started kindergarten and everything was going wrong, we had always known our son was a bit different from his peers but was overall a pleasant child. in K that changed, he began having severe outbursts in school and could no longer focus whatsoever, our talkative fun loving child had regressed to talking in gibberish and being so hyperactive even we were having a hard time. the school was no help and treated us as if we had created a "brat". Dr. C saw his ADHD for what it was, and was the first person in months to show me compassion, he was behaving terribly in her office and I was doing everything that used to work to no avail, she told me "you're doing everything right, just this time its not working" and I broke down. we worked together and got my son on the right medications and plan for his behaviors and now almost 3 years later he is still absolutely flourishing! she is definitely no non-sense and won't let kiddos lead the therapy… session, instead she calmly sets boundaries for the types of behaviors they would be expected to have anywhere else in the world.

I took my daughter to Padmaja Chilakapati's office in Chestnut Ridge Counseling center to discuss the anxiety issues my daughter has been having. She had no interest in helping my daughter or providing a professional opinion on what I could do to help her through her hard times. Instead, Padmaja Chilakapati made my 8 year old and I feel like we were just a bother to her.

instead of listening to my concerns about my child she was telling me about her child. Was rude and never talked to my child at all... In fact, she never removed her eyes from her computer screen. Would not recommend at all!
