Dr. Padmalatha Berikai, MD

Dr. Berekai is a very patient, thoughtful Dr. that spends as much time as you need with her. She listens to what you are saying and isn't prone to snap decisions. You will be in very good hands with Dr. Berekai

Dr. Padmalatha Berikai has an extremely wonderful bedside manner! I have been to many that don't know what a bedside manner is!! She is patient with her patients!! She listens! She's very good with how detailed she is and what your needs are! She NOT only was detailed in her prefession, but she actually takes the time to listen to you and your concern! She explains things in layman's term so you can understand what she is doing and why, or what something is doing to you or why it is!! I don't care that she has a small accent!! People claim you can't understand her? If you take the time to listen and focus. It can't be any clearer what she is saying. You need to be patient with her as she is with you!! She speaks clearer than some AMERCIAN'S that have lived here all their lives!! How horrible that someone would make a comment about her, and state that you can't understand her. I was prepared for this when I read the reviews and brought my computer with to translate just in case that… should be the case. I don't care if they speak any language if they are good in their field and with the technology we have today. There is no excuse!! Use it!! When I got there I was ashamed that I listened to someone's review stating you can't understand her. I had no problems what so ever!! She is a doll!! I have met few and far in between with doctors that actually don't treat you like an idiot or like a number and a paycheck!! She ACTUALLY DOES feel and care about her patients and she does take the time and explains things very well!! She totally took the time to explain all to me and is running tests at my request once she realize all that I had been through!! I LOVE THIS DOCTOR!! She will remain my doctor for a long time!! Stop judging so easily. It can hurt someone and in this case. This doctor with all she had done for me today and the time she took and the professionalism she has shown me. SHE DOESN'T DESERVE ONE negative statement!! She is the needle in the haystack "as far as many doctors I have had the displeasure of knowing" goes!! She deserves respect with the respect she gives!! Take the time to listen as she does for you!! KMK

Dr. Berikai was patient and thorough answering all my questions and concerns. She is very knowledgeable. When another doctor was quick to jump to the conclusion that I needed surgery, I sought a second opinion from Dr. Berikai. Through her expertise and additional testing that showed I didn't have cancer, she saved from needless surgery.

Dr. Berikai did thoroughly explain my situation on the first visit however to get follow ups there is a 2 month lead but I always get shuffled due to something coming up and I have to be rescheduled. The Assistant never calls with test results, forgets to call in for script refills, does not process referral requests so I have to always be the one trying to make sure all is right. Dr's accent is difficult to understand, and seems like she does not get when I tell her my levels are within range but too low for me. I wish my insurance had more endocrinologist near by.

Totally mis-diagnosed Thyroid Cancer!!

Dr Berikai treated my wife when she was a patient at Rush Copley. There has not been enough time to determine her worth as a doctor, my wife is still recuperating. She is almost useless as a communicator in English. If you don't speak her native language there are better choices.

Dr Berikai took a great deal of time and explained everything thoroughly regarding my thyroid. She is a very detail oriented MD that I have the utmost confidence in and would refer to a friend.
