Pam Craig, NP

Pam Craig, a family nurse practitioner, has worked in cardiology for Robert Martin, MD, for nearly three decades, offering high-quality, patient-centered care at Willis Knighton Pierremont Cardiology, 1811 E. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Suites 160 and 210, in Shreveport. “I pray I am the kind of provider our patients trust to listen to their problems and help make them better,” she says.  

A native of Mansfield, she was inspired to become a nurse by her mother. She began her career as a registered nurse in ICU in 1992. In 1998, her young daughter was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and received treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the experience changed their lives in more ways than one. “The loving care my daughter received from her oncology nurse practitioners sparked a desire to return to school to advance my degree,” Craig says.

Craig earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Master of Science degree in Nursing at Northwestern State …University of Louisiana. She also earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the Capstone College of Nursing at the University of Alabama. She is certified as an advanced practice registered nurse and family nurse practitioner, with credentials from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and American Heart Association.

She has years of experience in the medical field and has also served as an adjunct faculty member at NSU’s College of Nursing in Shreveport.  

She and her husband, Kenneth, have two children, Tyler and Kaylie, and one grandchild, Avery. In her spare time, she enjoys romantic fiction, biographies, Christian music and Hallmark movies. Her best time is spent with family.

Her advice to anyone considering a career in the medical profession: Make sure it’s for the right reason.
