Dr. Pamela Shenouda Cunningham

Had an abscess inside of spinal canal. Had to wait 10 days to see surgeon before being sent to Dallas's Zale LIpshy. She put me on very heavy steroids and pain medication for the intense pain and inflammation. If she had not done that the abscess would possibly have stopped my breathing. Was also told that I may never walk again. But the steroids prevented all of that from happening. She did a great job in keeping that from happening until I could get to Dallas.

I was desperate when I took my elderly mother to Dr. Cunningham. Mother had been treated chronic pain for years by a horrible Midland pain specialist. He had her hooked on narcotics which were not relieving the pain but were causing horrible side effects. In less than a year, Dr. Cunningham got her off the narcotics totally. Now her pain is almost gone, and she rarely needs more than ordinary ibuprofen or naproxen. When Mother has had episodes of acute pain due to accidents, Dr. Cunningham handled it very effectively, with no side effects. Repeatedly, she diagnosed and treated the real causes of Mother's pain, which had been missed by several other physicians. She treats Mother with respect, dignity, compassion, and good humor, and follows up on her. While the drives to Odessa were worth it, I'm so glad Dr. Cunningham now has an office on Wall St. in Midland, where we live. Midland finally has a first-rate pain specialist.
