She is not a compassionate doctor. I was in tears in her office because I have been dealing with chronic pelvic pain for years & I also have Fibromyalgia. It was my first visit with her so I wanted to tell her my history with chronic pelvic pain & Fibromyalgia as I think they might be related. She was not interested in hearing any of this. I was in tears & she NEVER once said, "I'm so sorry you are having so much pain"!! She curtly said, "that's not causing that, etc". Silly me for suggesting anything to a doctor!!She did a pap smear that day in which she knew I was menstruating. A nurse called me a couple days later & said, "your pap results are good, but we want you to come back and have an endometrial biopsy as we found endometrial tissue". I reminded the nurse that I was menstruating (typical to shed endometrial tissue during period), but said, "we know, but we would like to go ahead & do it since you are 41 years old". This nurse was also very rude & seemed annoyed that I… would even have any questions about this biopsy. This was not the same nurse who did the work up in the office as she was very compassionate. I said Okay, but would like to see a different gynecologist for this procedure. The nurse again sounded inconvenienced & set an appointment for me with Dr. Shira Varon. I went all the way down there, had my legs in the stirrups ready to go & Dr. Varon comes in & says, "I'm sorry, but it's unnecessary for you to have this procedure because you were menstruating during your pap smear"! I don't blame Dr. Varon, but this was a huge waste of my time as well as emotional energy. I also lost a day of wages because in my line of work I don't get paid if I'm not there. Also, during this time my husband was away training in chemical warfare as he is in the navy. I now live in another city as my husband was transferred. I pray that I have better luck this time
