Dr. Pamela Maria Perry, MD

I have seen Dr. Perry twice in the ER now and the first time I thought she was great but the second time, she was incredibly rude to me. I fractured my foot and was at first given a brace that was not good enough for my healing foot, so I had excruciating pain that led me to the ER in which Dr. Perry gave me a more supportive brace. This worked well for a little over two weeks and I had tried to get in to see my podiatrist but had trouble with their office. The excruciating pain came back even worse two weeks later so I found myself at the ER with Dr. Perry again. She was incredibly rude to me saying that I should have seen my podiatrist because the brace wasn't "permanent". I tried to tell her that I did my best but their office didn't get back to me. She ordered an X-Ray and from the results told me that my foot looked like it hadn't healed at all (mind you it had been 4 weeks of having a brace on, non-weight bearing since I broke it and I am a student who lives alone). This… devastated me and she delivered the news very rude and in a "know-it-all" sort of way saying it was my fault because I should have seen a podiatrist. She prescribed me nothing for the pain and instead gave me steroids that eventually helped but not the night I went to the ER or the day after so I was still in excruciating pain and couldn't sleep or function. I went to see a different podiatrist than the first one I saw and he said my foot was healing fine and that the brace I was given was what is normally given for this type of fracture. The pain I was feeling was due to inflammation in my foot from the bone healing (not plantar fasciitis as Dr. Perry told me which occurs in your heel and not in your toes where I was feeling the pain). I don't understand how a doctor who has been practicing for over 20 years cannot see a difference between a broken bone and a healing bone or know that what I was experiencing was not plantar fasciitis. I would hope none of my family members or friends would be in the hands of Dr. Perry's because she would most likely scold them, be incessantly rude, and give them unwarranted anxiety about their health. Thank you for nothing Dr. Perry.

This doctor deserves a thousand stars! She is very compassionate and caring. I only met her for about a total of 5 minutes and that's all I needed to know that she is doing this because she GENUINELY cares about people. How many ER doctors can you say gave you a hug before you left? Thank you so much for being you!
