Dr. Pamela Jean Schlembach, MD

Dr. Schlembach never listened to me. I told her not to radiate my lymph nodes, she did it anyway. I told her at our initial consultation I was quite concerned about the effects of radiation on my body because my body does not react "normally" in many situations. Dr. Schlembach was very reassuring, and acted like I was unduly concerned about adverse side effects. My first indication of an issue was after my first treatment. I awoke the following morning to a sharp pain in my breast. After 5 days, I was incredibly sleepy. In fact, I was so exhausted, I was sleeping approximately 18 hours a day. I was also experiencing increasing pain after every treatment. I was told to take ibuprofen for the pain. At the end of my 10th treatment, I could no longer tolerate the treatments. When the techs told me they would see me at my next treatment, I told them I would NOT be there. Between extreme fatigue and pain, I could no longer tolerate radiation. I was quickly escorted to a nurse. She insisted I… was fine. She suggested stronger pain medication. She said she was putting me on codeine, at which point I told her that codeine keeps me awake. She insisted I try it. The codeine did help the pain but I was only able to sleep for 4 or 5 hours a day. I spoke with Dr. Schlembach about the possibility of me being allergic to radiation, she told me it was not possible. When I began feeling pains in other areas I asked to wear a protective garment to minimize exposure of the radiation. She told me that it was so accurate, that protective garments were not even available, as they were not needed. I was capable of feeling the radiation at the time it was given. During one session I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder. I was unable to move my arm for the rest of the day because of the severe pain. When I reported this to Dr. S., she told me knees and shoulders are the first to go after 50. I never injured my shoulder, or had shoulder pain before radiation.She offered to refer me to an orthopedist because it was not related to my radiation. I now suffer lymphedema in my arm and torso due to radiation. If Dr. Schlembach had believed me and listened to me, I might not be suffering with lymphedema in my arm and torso for the rest of my life. I filed a formal complaint with the hospital, nothing came of it.

Dr Schlembach is a caring and sincere physician. She is involved in many areas of patient well being, including hosting a support group for breast cancer patients. I

She is community minded and active for her professio, patients and survivors. Awesome lady.

I have had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Schlembach for the past 6 years. From the moment I met her, I was made to feel comfortable and she eased my anxiety (of which there was a lot.) Her extensive knowledge and years of experience in the field of Radiation Oncology is very apparent. Also, she is active in our community with the Breast Friends organization. Her gentle bedside manner is much appreciated when patients are going through a very traumatic experience. I would strongly recommend Ms. Schlembach to anyone who may have the misfortune of needing a Radiation Oncologist.

Dr. Schlembach treated my husband for high volume, high density prostate cancer in 2015. We were so scared of the treatment but Dr. Schlembach was a wonderful, knowledgeable and caring doctor who led us through the treatment with the outcome that we had hoped for. He is doing well, today, three years later and we couldn't have found a better physician than Dr. Schlembach.

Everyone was so nice and helpful. This made my radiation treatment as pleasant as it could be. Thank you for everything.

Dr. Schlembach has the beside manner of a barbarian. By far the coldest, least caring doctor that I have ever met.
