My life would have been so much different if I never saw doctor Thomas. She refused to look at why I gained so much weight as a type one diabetic 19 years ago. Blamed my weight gain on me. Caused an eating disorder, mental health issues, and lies about my period to my next doctors as an adult cause doctor Thomas kept repeating it’s her weight! She’s fat. She just needs to eat less. Guess who has something on her pituitary. Dr Thomas, wrecked my life when I had no choice to see her. And caused so much harm! If she’s still practicing, beg , for anyone else. Your story might be mine! And I couldn’t live if someone else had to feel like weight was their fault. Cause dr Thomas said everything else was so uncommon, she’s just fat. Guess who has that something rare. If she’s retired now, good! She can stop causing harm! But if she is , be very aware. Explore all other options. So much time could have been saved if dr Thomas 19 years ago could have found it in her to care. But she didn’t.

While I'm grateful that care is available here for diabetic children on Medicaid, Dr. Thomas certainly is not the best choice. More than once I questions she outright refused to even discuss with me, which I found absolutely appalling. She's also obstinate to the point of absurdity, admonishing both myself and my child concerning the time her school serves lunch, as though either of us (or her) could possibly control that. Luckily, her staff is excellent, and parents are far better off bringing their questions and concerns to the nurses and med techs than this doctor. It is my hope for sake of future diagnosed children that someone else joins this practice, as we had no choice in doctors. If you get a choice for your child, I recommend choosing someone else.
