My sciatic nerves pain was getting unbearable., I couldn't stand for a long period or walk more than a few yards. I lost count how many times I woke up with an awful shocking pain going down my leg, many nights I slept sitting on the corner of the couch. I was tired of going from doctors to doctors and back to the same...pain pills and shots on my back which got to the point it wasn't helping much. I needed a new doctor and after an intensive online research and talking to friends I went to see Dr. Mehta. Our first meeting was very positive, he told me he was going to get to the bottom of my sciatic pain problems permanently. My wife waiting in the lobby said "I think we finally found a doctor that will help us". After studying my case Dr. Mehta and his assistant recommended the Superion vertiflex indirect decompression device implant. I was explained in detail how I was a perfect candidate, how it was going to help me and his assistants answer all our questions. My wife and I… decided the minimum invasive procedure was our best choice other than having an open back operation with a painful recovery period on a wheel chair. I had the surgery in the morning and I was home in the afternoon. As expected, a little discomfort the first two days because of the small wounds on my back, I had two devices implanted. Right away I could tell the surgery was very successful, no more that terrible sciatic nerve shocking pain! I'm able to sleep all night and take nice evening walks with my wife and grandkids. When my friends ask me about the surgery I tell them "magical". Dr. Mehta and his assistants really care about their patients, the office personnel are the best. The first ten days his nurse call me everyday to check on how I was doing. That's shows how much they care for you! It has been almost two months, no more sciatic nerves pain and no more pain pills. A man is only as good as his word and that's Dr. Mehta. On our first meeting he told me he was going to get to the bottom of my sciatic nerves pain permanently, he did! I highly recommend Dr. Mehta. My family and I thank you Dr. Mehta for making our everyday lives better.

I have been coming to see the Pain Specialists of Austin for about six-months now. Until about two weeks ago, I had yet to be prescribed the pain relief medication or the muscle relaxers I needed, meaning I had spend almost half a year in excruciating pain without any medication. As it turns out, they hold me they thought my primary care physician was still treating my pain; to which, that assumption I was dumbfounded—why would I be seeing pain specialists that my primary secured me a referral for if she could just treat the pain? For the latest visit, I have had a MRI ordered through his office in for about a month and a half now, and today was the second office visit I had asked about them. Mehta personally told me he was going to check the MRI, and never returned—I guess the office visit was over, because a nurse came in and cleared me out. I had a ton more questions, e.g. what was on my MRI, for one. The nurse went to ask him, and I could hear him talking with a highly negative… tone to her (I would HATE to work for this guy). She came back in, apologized, and told me that Dr. Mehta advised that I go see another physician if I am unhappy with the treatment I am being provided. I am a man, but this crap makes me want to cry. COMPLETELY unethical, unprofessional, and immoral.

I was given a paper appointment slip written by the Killeen office staff. At the time of my appointment I was told that I did not have an appt on that day and instead of assuming their mistake they tried to turn the tables on me and on my insurance. Unbelievable that such a medical business would use lame excuses to cover their mistakes.

This is the worst practice I have ever been at. This Dr. does not even begin to know what compassion is; although he took an oath. He doesn't listen to you; he continually cuts you off as though it's not important. Missed appointments, changed or canceled appointments they truly don't care about your well being. For heavens sake do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I wish I had tried to read anything about him before I wasted all the time and money.

Dr Mehta is an excellent provider, he is very courteous and takes time to address your issues, however; I can't say the same for his clinic staff. I went to be seen for a follow up because my back pain had returned after having injections, I was told that it was time for more injections but I was unable to get seen for a month later. I asked if I could have pain medication to get me through, it had been 4 months since I had medication filled. I was made to feel as if I was a drug seeker by the NP that I saw. I have been dealing with chronic back pain for 5 years. I know what helps it, I asked if I could possibly be given the Norco which I have taken in past with relief. I was rudely told that he did not prescribe that medication. I had been given it 4 months previous and still had some left so I clearly was not abusing it, I told her I could show her the bottle with the medication in it to prove that I was not abusing it. She prescribed me tramadol which does nothing for my pain. I… only needed the new prescription due to my job. I have to have a 90 pharmacy profile to take meds. I still had 20 of the 30 i had been prescribed 4 months previous, but could not take it due to the outdate of the pharmacy. The bottom line is she has no bedside manner and assumes that everyone that goes there is drug seeking, or that is my perception of how I felt when I was there. I did like Dr Mehta as a provider, but I will not return due to the NP in the clinic. I understand he is busy and that will be the person I will see on follow ups and etc. so I would rather not be treated rude, disrespectful and made to feel bad for wanting to get pain relief. That is what they are there for....

This doctor is the best in the business. He listens to me and wants to fix me.
