Jessica and her husband Tim took my grandson Henry for his 12 month appt. They were told by Dr. Navi that he should be talking and walking by now and that if he’s not walking by 15 months they need to take him to physical therapy?! According to the baby development milestones provided by the CDC, at 12 months your baby should be gaining more independence in mobility, crawling, scooting, cruising, walking while holding onto a coffee table(maybe walking) and forming sounds and syllables that will eventually become words. She made unfounded accusations about my daughter and son-in-law letting him watch tv (Henry’s not even slightly interested in tv) and harming his development by putting him in a walker?! Never have I heard such malarkey!!! I’m recommending that they ask for a different doctor. I am a 20 year veteran teacher and have taken many courses in child development, and her suggestions to my daughter were quite faulty and caused her undue stress as a young parent.
