Dr. Parita Sahani, DO

Dr. Sahani bullied, cajoled, disparaged, and lied during my labor to get a cesarean section. She told me she couldn't tell if the baby was sunny side up and if the baby was too large to come out. None turned out to be true. The baby was normally positioned, no umbilical cord issues, no placenta issues, 6.75 lbs. The baby and I were in perfect health, no diabetes, no high blood pressure, no issues at all. When I asked another ob/gyn afterwards, I was told you could get the information she lied about from the sonogram anyway, so it didn't make any sense. So, Dr. Sahani lied during labor to bully the patient into an unnecessary cesarean. That's negligence and malpractice and from what I read on other reviews, she should lose her license. Plus, I recently found out she's being sued by another patient for personal injury. Update: She's being sued again this time for Malpractice, I saw the filing on google. STAY AWAY, FAR FAR AWAY. Really quite scary, this doctor is very scary

From NYU she was the worst doctor I have visited, she gave me anxiety, told me she wouldn’t want to deliver 8 pounds babies (my babies were 4 pounds btw, just big headed smart babies) recommended to do some jumping to get my body moving while I was pregnant with twins (29 weeks) after I left the office I was in shock to be honest. They way she talked was horrible. I would never recommend her not even for a routine check. Thank God she wasn’t there for the babies delivery.

Very uncomfortable exchange with this doctor. She criticized what I was doing with my health care (keep in mind, I was following my other NYU doctor orders to the letter), rattled off information so quickly that I not only couldn’t keep up but she said “it will be in your chart” (it never made it there). It took a week to receive a routine test result and I had to ask about it multiple times. I felt deeply uncomfortable with this doctor. If I go back and am scheduled with her I will ask for a different doctor. I felt disrespected and disappointed in my care with this doctor.

Dr. Sahani has no respect for her patients - she does not listen to you, provides no context to her questions, reprimands you, is condescending and cold, and treats you like a textbook case (literally rattling off information so fast you can't keep up) instead of a human being. I recommend any other doctor at this practice, but steer clear of her if possible.

Dr. Sahani is a rare find in this age of rushed medical care. She treated me with respect and outstanding care. I saw her for an infected breast abscess and her followup even included a phone call! I recommend her to anyone who is looking for competence and genuine concern.

STAY AWAY. I don't know what made Parita want to become a doctor. She was so cold, sarcastic, fake, discomforting, discouraging, and everything bad. She did not care about me at all. No bedside manner. I wanted a natural birth no epidural and when I finished delivering she told me, "you need an epidural next time" and walked out of the room. No congratulations, no happy smile. While i was pushing she told me, "I have 20 other patients to get to." After i delivered she told me I might need a blood transfusion and that I lost 1/5 of my blood, but when I returned for my postpartum visit she said "your blood loss was normal." She did not come check on me the next day. She gave my husband attitude. She is SO condescending i cant even begin to describe it. She assumed I would have another baby in a year because of my religion. She was barely in the delivery room the whole time. I asked her how many stitches I got, she kept saying "one run of stitches" such an unclear pointless answer.

Dr Sahani has delivered my baby and I feel like I could not have gotten a better doctor. She was very patient and did not rush me into c section even though I was in labor for almost 24 hrs. She was caring, kind and encouraged me all the way. I had an issue at some point during the labor and she reacted right away and took care of everything.

Dr Sahani was the first doctor I saw after finding out I was pregnant. I am an avid note taker and had already come prepared with questions on my phone. As I took notes, Dr Sahani attempted to chastise me for not paying attention while I was actually writing down all the information she was giving me. She made a few rude comments and also breezed over sections of my medical history and was annoyed when I would ask her to go back. Our encounter was so uncomfortable where she didn't trust me to listen that I eventually addressed that it was a tense meeting and that she was acting "snippy" with me. She made no acknowledgement and moved right along to more questions. It's unclear to me why she did not believe I was taking notes after I clarified and showed her what I was doing on my phone multiple times.
