GREAT DR. VERY NICE STAFF IS GREAT WISH HE WAS STILL THEIR EVERYONE IS STILL VERY NICE GREAT PLACE TO GO .

I have used this physician for years. I would have suggested him to all kinds of people - until his referral to a colleague Brian Tierney who he works very closely with resulted in an FGM mutilation and forced sign up to a clinical trial for high technology equipment which I did not sign up for. He and his assistant B alt knew something about what had transpired and did not report this to authorities. The FGM is a felony in TN and I assume the later is as well - as this is a huge human rights violation.

You couldn't ask for a more brilliant or kinder doctor.

I cannot imagine who the lady with the bad review saw, but I assure you it couldn't have been Dr. Pat Whitworth. He and BE are the most caring and compassionate providers that you would WANT handling your breast care needs. Both my mother and I are patients of Dr. W, and wouldn't go anywhere else. Most recently my mother found out her cancer had returned. Amazingly she felt no pain during the biopsy. He had her well sedated, and talked to her during the procedure in order to ensure she was comfortable. If you are faced with cancer, this is the Dr. you want treating you!

Great results

Attended a biopsy procedure with my mother. It was supposed to take 1 hour; it took 4. Reason for this was the doctor had determined he no longer needed the assistance of a doctor of radiology with locating the site for biopsy. Instead of doing this job himself, Dr. Whitworth leaves this to the tech, who said herself that she didn't know what she was doing. Dr. Whitworth breezed in and out of the room, only staying to do each biopsy, and returning to his desk while the tech struggled to set up the machine for the next one. Dr. Whitworth was well aware of the discomfort of the patient on the table (no face rest as on massage tables, neck remains at 180 degrees the entire time). He was also aware of the ineptitude of the tech. Immediately afterward, said tech performed a mammogram on top of the 4 hours of torture my mother had endured. (imagine a mammogram squeezing a breast with 3 incisions in it - a very bloody situation with not so much as a cloth or paper towel in the room to clean… it up). Staff was rude upon follow-up and doctor never contacted patient himself.

A bit of a wait but completely worth it. Dr Whitworth and his staff, including two Nurse Practitioners, are kind and compassionate. He's a surgical oncologist who devotes his entire practice to breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
