Dr. Patrice Danielle Firpo, MD

Dr. Firpo is a wonderful and compassionate obgyn. She knew nothing about me, but cared for me as if I have been a patient of hers for years. She convinced me to have an urgent surgery because she was concerned that if I kept waiting any longer, I would continue to bleed internally and I would not be here today writing this. Thank you for explaining your concerns to me respectfully and honestly. For taking the time to make drawings for me and my husband and for delivering any “bad news” to me in a sensitive manner. For checking up on me the next day and keeping your word even if you weren’t on call. It is doctors like you that have encouraged me to enter the medical field, and I hope to be just as amazing as you are as a provider. Thank you Dr. Firpo.

Horrible and sadistic doctor. Be aware.

Worst experience I have ever had with an OB. Wouldn't recommend this woman to my worst enemy.

I drive an hour to see Dr. Firpo and normally there is quite a wait when I get there (a big part of her job is to deliver babies and you can't always plan births), but she is worth the relatively small inconveniences. She really, honestly cares about her patients and their families. She knows every member of my family's names and asks about them every time I see her. When there was an emergency during my labor, she literally ran back and forth between her office and the hospital at least three times. It was after 5 pm on a Friday when she performed my c-section and I'm sure there were some antsy patients in her exam rooms, but I am more grateful for her cautious nature than I could ever say. Her efficiency and decisiveness saved my son's life. I completely agree with those who call her angel...she certainly is to me! I think it's also helpful to know that all of the nurses at the Woman's Hospital think very highly of her and their good opinion is worth a lot.

She is not my regular OBGYN and she was filling in for my Dr the day my son was circumcised. The circumcision was not done corectly and had to be re done at a later date. I didnt think anything of it until met 4 other mothers whos sons also had the same problems with the circumcision done by Dr. Firpo. The group and the hospital didnt seemed to concerned with my complaints.

I started going to Dr. Firpo when I was pregnant with my firlst child... almost 9 years ago. Dr. Firpo is a wonderful doctor. She ALWAYS takes the time to see how I am doing and ALWAYS has not only mine, but my babies health as a first priority. I am a high risk pregnancy, so, whenever I have questions ( whenever it may be ) she or her nurses are always eagger to anwser them and put me at ease. I have never felt rushed like most doctors make you feel. She always greets me with a smile, and sometimes a hug. When I have my children with me she has always taken the time to talk to them and catch up with them. She delivered my last two babies, one a cecerian. I was really scared, but Dr. Firpo put me at ease and the wonderful team of ladies that helped bring my son into this world. Dr. Firpo was the first person to give my son a hug when he cam into this world. She makes leaps and bounds for me. I would drive more than 2 hours to see her. She is an angel disguised as a doctor... and how… blessed am I and my babies to have her care for us!!

The most fabulous thing about Dr. Firpo is that she cares. My last name is different then my sister and mother. When I went to see her the second time she asked me how they were, and spent a LOT of time with me to make sure we were making the right decisions. I have fibromyalgia and could not ask for a BETTER doctor to understand my needs!!!!!Purely AMAZING, she is a God Sent, and a true Angel!!

She always seems to be running behind, but she is well worth the wait. She is very attentive to your needs and doesn't make you feel rushed. I always have plenty of time to talk to her about concerns and she takes the time to the thorough. Always being on time doesn't make you a good doctor, caring about your patients does.

I saw Dr. Firpo for prenatal care. Initially there were no problems, but when i began having complications everything went downhill. I began having Pain (contractions) during my 3rd month. RED FLAG, right? Not for Dr. Firpo. She told me that, even though my labs were negative, i probably had a bladder infection and put me on antibiotics which made me hurl. . . twice. When i called the office her staff recommended that I use AZO. The pain would start and stop and at times i could barely walk. We found out I had a fibroid that was growing as fast as the baby. Dr. Firpo never addressed my pain and i ended up in the hospital in preterm labor at 5 months. The hospital staff was able to stop the labor with medication. Finally Firpo prescribed meds for the pain and to stop the contractions. But for some strange reason she didn't want to allow me to take bed rest, even though i would literally start to painfully contract if i sat up for more than 20 minutes. She failed to tell me that… the pain meds could affect the baby if taken after week 30 (i was told by another doctor)and continued to refill them. She did, however, set me up with a fetal monitoring company. But as time progressed i was simply not able to complete every session. I could barely move, and had NEGATIVE weight gain(meaning I lost 40 WHILE i was pregant) So the Good dr. had her nurse call and threaten that if i didn't comply with her every recommendation she would REVOKE her order for bed rest. As if it were a privilege and not a medical necessity. And as if she had given such stellar advice anyway. She is at best a HORRIBLE doctor and at worst a world class callous JERK!!

I've been a patient of Dr Firpo's for the past 6 or 7 years. In that time, the wait time has increase from an average of 30 minutes to more than 3 hours.My impression is that Dr. Firpo does not spend much time reviewing my chart before my exam because she seems confused when I've come in for follow ups outside of the yearly exam and she always acts surprised when I remind her of my medical conditions.For the past couple of years, Dr Firpo's office has stopped sending out annual exam reminders. When I asked them about it, the receptionist got defensive and said that they aren't required to send out reminders so they only do it if they have time.Dr. Firpo seems like a nice person and she's fairly prompt when asked to refill a prescription, but the wait time is obscene, I don't have much confidence in her medical abilities, and her office is inconsistent when it comes to exam reminders. I've started looking for a new ob/gyn.
