I went dr allen for over a year bc I thought my severe pain and fatigue was from leaky gut syndrome. Turns out there was a test she never even bothered to give me. Instead she assumed I was overweight bc I was lazy and told me I needed to take daily walks to build up my muscles. I explained to her many times that some days I can barely get out of bed and that with my limited energy reserves and high pain level, adding more activity would make managing my life even more difficult than it already is. It was like talking to a wall. I am grieving the loss of my favorite activlvites: biking, hiking, generally walking everywhere bc of the? toll they take on my body not bc I am lazy. After I left in frustrstion, my next pcp diagnosed me with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I just found out dr allen also has EDS which makes her dismissive attitude infuriating and the reason for this review. After the pandemic opened up months later, she still only gave me video appts. When I told her I had been… experiencing some shortness of breath, she said" it's probably just your weight" and changed the subject. I have history of blood clots and found out later that shortness of breath can be a symptom of a deadly clot in the lungs. That is neglect! One of the worst MDs ever.
