Dr. Patricia Ann Briscoe, MD

I don't write reviews, but after reading some of the 1 star reviews, I decided to write my experience. This journey is almost 2 years now and still not done. I had silicone implants since 1972 and had them replaced with saline in 2001. About 8 years later one of them had deflated. In retrospect I should have done something at that point, but chose not to for various reasons. In late 2017 the deflated implant was attempting to cut its way out of my body; that really hurt, and that is how I came to the point to remove the implants. Dr. Briscoe asked me if I wanted to replace the implants, but I had made the decision that I was done with implants and the necessity to keep replacing them. She indicated that my end results were extremely likely not to be as good as if I had new implants put in. She fully explained, that under my circumstances, the breast with the deflated and contracted impIant was not going to be perfect. She told me up front I would end up needing two… reconstructive surgeries and why. The results after the first surgery, even with as much reconstruction done as possible at that point, were pretty rough. Not unexpected. I was prepared for that. During this surgery she discovered the other implant had come out of its pocket and was sanding its way out of my body, resulting in much thinner skin and tissue on that breast. After about 6 months I had the first reconstructive surgery done. The immediate results were a big improvement, but no where near what normal breasts should look like. I had big dents and scaring and puckers. Again, not a surprise to me. At that point I was instructed to begin light massage of the breasts and to just wait. The body needed time to repair. I am now coming up on one year from the last surgery and both breasts have changed significantly for the better. The dents are nearly gone, and the scars have drastically changed for the better; the puckers are gone. The next surgery will likely involve fat transfers into the breasts, which will most likely result in one breast being nearly normal and the the problem-child breast looking significantly better. I would be happy to reach that point, even though it might not be perfection. I am surprised that anyone would think reconstructive surgery is going to be a walk in the park. There are no guarantees in surgery that things are going to turn out well. Risk versus reward; are you going to end up with good results or a disaster. It's a choice we all have to make. There is no way to know if your body is going to tolerate implants or reject them. There is no way to really know what the surgeon is going to find on the inside. We all react to pain in different ways. With the problem of addiction to pain killers to day, you can't expect an unlimited number of pills and that there is going to be some pain involved. You can look at hundreds of before and after pictures and that would tell you that the surgeon has a good track record on that surgery, but it can always go sideways. I have never had any issues with the office staff, attentiveness of Dr. Briscoe or the amount of time she spent with me. She fully explained what was going to happen and what the outcome would likely be. I was fully informed of potential problems that could happen in surgery. I would highly recommend her.

Dr Briscoe was great. She made me feel very comfortable. I had a rupture of old 21 year old saline implants and she got me in and took care of it. She is so caring and really concerned about you. Had new implants put in and they turned out excellent just perfect. She is GREAT and would recommend her to anyone.

Dr Briscoe did breast reduction surgery for me four years ago. I asked for D cup and got a smallish C. My nipples turned black and fell off. I was never warned this might happen. She assured me my insurance would pay for nipple reconstruction. Insurance would not cover it. I paid $5200 out of pocket and am now going through same nightmare. One nipple is not getting blood and turning black. I just as not told recovery on nipple reconstruction is about 12 weeks. She also just brushes off that nipple is black and detaching from my breast. It’s very upsetting.

Highly recommend! Professional and skillful in her practice.

Dr. Briscoe is amazing as far as the result achieved. She is very likable and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Briscoe did an amazing job on my breast reduction surgery.

I am having a breast reduction by Dr. Briscoe. I was referred to her by two people in my office that I work at. When I went in for the consultation she was so warm and very caring. She really made me feel at ease. She guaranteed me that my insurance would cover the surgery and it did. I am thankful that I found a surgeon who is very thorough and makes me feel like a person and not a surgery case.

She's a dr. that was quick to want you as a patient, but you definitely feel like a number after she starts on you. There is absolutely no compassion that I have seen from her, just rudeness to me and even to her nurse I witnessed first hand. She seems not to believe you if you are in pain and if you are, she is not wanting to help you through it. Will imply and tell you "you have no pain tolerance" and make you feel like an idiot. She has no tolerance or patience to work with patients that might have a harder time with her procedures due to preexisting conditions. Being a little more realistic on recovery time and amount of pain a surgery could cause, especially with pre existing problems should always be a must, prior to surgery, not "well most other people so better than that" after you are in ungodly pain. Pre existing conditions should always be taken into consideration first. She's quick to want to work on you, but if after she starts and you don't fall under her "EASY CLIENT"… catagory, she seems quick to want to dismiss you or give you some lame excuse that she can't continue her full promised/agreed upon services. Part way isn't good enough, (Talk about a nightmare) unless of course there is truelly a medically good reason. But not because you are not the "EASY CLIENT" with zero problems or questions/concerns. AS a patient, it is our duty to make sure our doctor has our well being and best interests first.

Dr. Briscoe is a wonderful, personable, Plastic Surgeon. She is very friendly and knowledgable. She took a lot of time with me and I didn't rush at all.

I got into see her right away. But the breast reduction itself was horribly done. She never did the sides correctly if at all - so now I have this bigger bulges that not only look unnatural, but are bothersome as well. She took my stitches out early - because we happen to be there at her office and she had my husband stand in for the nurse while she did this task. Very emotional for him and myself. I could not get back in to see her - and would not have let her touch me again if I could have. The scars on the sides are an inch thick.good luck.
