Dr. Patricia Calvo, MD

I was refused a test results visit with Dr. Calvo as I did not have my bank card on me nor a check book to pay my copay. I am a new patient, never met the doctor, as the first time I was supposed to meet her, I saw her nurse practitioner instead. I was ordered an ultrasound and to meet Dr. Calvo to discuss the results. This office obviously cares more about money than patients. The explanation I was given by the front desk is that per the office manager, they have many accounts in collection, so therefore, I was refused a visit. There is no signage anywhere that co-pay must be paid in advance, regardless. To refuse a patient over a copay when they already collect from my insurance is completely unethical. For the office to further insinuate that I will be another "collections" patient is humiliating and offensive.

Dr. Calvo has been my doctor for 17 years and delivered all 3 of my sons. She always took time to answer my questions and explain everything. I had pre eclampsia and because of her vigilant care, my son and I were both fine. As for the people complaining about too long of a wait, she is an obstetrician- if a baby is about to be born, or a patient has a complication, she has to prioritize. So an occasional wait doesn’t bother me because in the past, I have been the one who needed immediate care, and I was very grateful that I could count on Dr. Calvo to be there when I needed her.

My daughters and I are all patients of Dr. Calvo. She is professional, knowledgeable and personable. I trust her medical knowledge and judgment. She has taken excellent care of us for over fifteen years.

I experienced an ectopic pregnancy, and Dr Calvo was on call that day in the ER as my regular OB/GYN doctor was not available until next day. She was OK to answer our questions and concerns, but felt she was not very sympathetic towards our situation and told me my chances of becoming pregnant again were slim. She really gave no sense of hope, and even laughed a bit when we called a few more times to ask questions. A few years later, I went on to have a healthy baby girl. My regular OB told me I would get pregnant again, and did all the necessary tests to make sure everything was OK. I was glad I made into surgery with my regular OB the next day.

A lot of the comments about her not being personable but Calvo is just business like, at the end of the day knows her stuff 100%. My wife had an emergency c-section and Calvo was a rockstar through event. Going forward would put any of my family in her care after seeing what happened to my wife. She was awesome with advice afterwards and check ups as well. If you are after a cuddly doctor who will stroke your ego she is not the person but if you want a doctor who will deliver, especially under pressure she is the person to use, I know what I prefer.

Dr. Calvo is an amazing doctor. Caring and very loving. She takes her time to take care of me. I had a very difficult pregnancy and I thank God she was my doctor. Her staff are amazing too. Best OBGYN!

She is the best obgyn I have ever had

At times, Dr. Calvo seemed rushed during appointments. But for the most part, I thought she was knowledgeable and respected my wishes. She has a calm, informative demeanor and successfully delivered my baby naturally with no complications!

Very impersonal, rushes appointments, avoids discussing procedures or addressing concerns, not concerned with informal consent. Very egotistical and arrogant. Very pro induction and interventions, even on low risk patients.
