Dr. Patricia Gail Faulkner-Simmons, MD

I dislike this woman so much I am not even sure where to begin. On our most recent visit, she scolded me upon walking in the room to see my son, for allowing him to draw with a pen in the office, fearing he would destroy her furniture.Beyond that, she has historically discouraged breastfeeding. The office is full of formula propaganda. Starting at 2 months she insisted I needed to start my son on rice cereal and fruits and veggie purees at 3 months, even though he was gaining weight PERFECTLY. (consistently in the 90th percentile) She has no clue about any of the World Health, American Academy of Pediatrics, or CDC information on delaying solids. Every appointment thereafter she asked if I was still breastfeeding and made sure I knew it was okay to quit. She pushed whole milk on us at the 9 month.She has walked in to our check ups before and not even read his file, and proceeded to ask me questions for a younger child and then realized halfway through my son was actually older… than that and she was asking the wrong interview.The normal wait time is around 5-10 minutse in the waiting room, followed by 20+ minutes for her to walk in the room. Any time you call with a question or concern to go in, and your child is not sick, she makes you feel rather stupid for bothering her, while on the phone the staff have insisted you bring your child in to be checked for ear infection. Ear infection is this office's answer for anything in the short.She insists on your child taking iron supplements, but never actually checks iron levels. She has no kids of her own, but loves to give out parenting advice including cry it out method, etc. She is utterly clueless. The front staff are also deplorable. A rather fat woman sits up front sounding bored each time you come to the counter to check in. She is short with you. Most recently the other girl there couldn't even read my new insurance card, asking me questions that were clearly listed on the card.I cannot say enough bad things about this office. I have now switched our pediatrician and am so glad I never have to step foot on the second floor of Graves Gilbert or see that awful woman again.
