Dr. Patricia Lee Friedsam, MD

i recently switched doctors due to my previous doctor not listening to what I had to say. when I had a release form filled out and my previous PCP put on the form that I had asthma and COPD. first off I was never tested for COPD and I have never had asthma. While many people would not appreciate r. Friedsam's direct approach and no frills approach, but I would rather have a doctor who is honest than one that ttries to sugar coat everything and diagnosis you incorrectly.

My spouse has been a long time patient of Dr. Friedsam’s and, until recently, we always felt that she was very thorough and provided excellent care. For this reason we tolerate her difficult personality. However, over the last 12 to 18 months we have seen a significant decline in the quality of that medical care. I honestly don’t know if it’s the doctor or the office staff, but here are some of the recent problems that we’ve experienced. There was a medical test interpreted by a specialist that Friedsam sent us to, who found abnormalities and recommended a different kind of test. This information sat for over a month without us hearing from Friedsam, until we found the report on the patient AHN record available to us online, and made the second test appointment ourselves, which eventually led to the removal of a dangerous tumor. In another situation, another specialist that she sent us to recommended Friedsam change the dosage of an important medication, which she said she… never received a note about from this specialist when we brought it up several months later. She apparently had not seen a related, and important, lab test result that was easily accessible in the patient computer records online, also done months earlier. On a third occasion, we left her office after an appointment with an order for a lab test which looked incomplete to me, based upon the conversation we had with her just a few minutes earlier during the appointment. The staff said it couldn’t be immediately resolved and that we would get a phone call from them later to address our questions. When we got the phone call, the lab order we were given was very incomplete. The staff would not email us a corrected, complete order, instead expecting us to make a one hour round trip back to the office to pick up correct paperwork. In the end, they agreed to fax it to our local AHN lab. I don’t know exactly what the issues are causing these problems, perhaps she is burned out or wants to retire, but whatever the issues, the quality of medical care from her office is no longer what it used to be. I used to recommend her to friends, but can no longer do so in good conscience.

Only had to deal with her 1 time because my doctor was unavailable. NEVER AGAIN! She was so rude I couldn't believe it. Came in the room and said what's your problem? Excuse me! I'm paying YOU to help me. I wish there was a rating of 0 stars because that's what she deserves. But the office staff is EXCELLENT! Love all of them! I feel sorry for them because I have heard how she speaks to them. It is shameful!

Horribly rude, condescending and a repeated lied. No respect for others.

Dr. Friedsman is absolutely insane and obviously hates her profession. She is miserable and apparently enjoys making anyone who has the misfortune of dealing with her equally as foul during the interaction. Rude doesn't even begin to describe her demeanor and I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy. I see the words "bedside manor" used in a few of these reviews, the only bedside I think she'd belongs at it that of a prisoner on death row convicted of the most heinous of crimes. Her staff however was very friendly considering the nightmare they must deal with and this review does not reflect ANY of them.

She is an awful doctor. Extremely rude, pill pusher, and just an awful person.

She will stick up for patients with insurance companies when the companies don't want to pay for meds or tests. She is very thorough. If you come to her with a problem, she will not give up until she finds the cause and treats it. She explains everything. She gives each patient the time they need, so sometimes she runs a little late, but it's a reasonable tradeoff. She cares about her patients' well being. She does have a sometimes crabby personality, but she will give you better health care than the majority of doctors out there today.

Dr. Friedsam, while it's true she has a poor bedside manner, is an excellent doctor. She was recommended to me 10 years ago by a fellow physician and has proved to be a wonderful find. She is not a hand holder or pill pusher, she is a thoroughly knowledgeable practitioner.

Dr. Friedsam has NO bed side manor and speaks to each individual in a demeaning manor. She is absolutely horrible!! I have heard this from others patience as well. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!!

Outstanding doctor. My husband & I are very fortunate to have her as a doctor. She is very thorough. We trust her completely and are confident in her care.
