My situation was a bit odd as I was using a “research” chemical she did everything she could for me to help I was shocked there was a doctor willing to help this much. While I’m not cured or completely better I still feel like I gained a lot of knowledge from her and she definitely knows what she is doing for sure 100%

Dr. Halligan is an expert in her field. She is exactly the right balance of being able to challenge our assumptions while being caring and supportive. She has helped me tremendously. I have not had any of the negative experiences that a few people have mentioned here.

Coming to see Dr Halligan was one of my life’s greatest decisions. My life had been spiraling out of control due to my addiction, mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. Dr Halligan quite frankly gave me back my life. I’m now clean (almost 5 years) and I’ve never looked back. At my first visit (sitting there sobbing my eyes out) she told me that I had been self-medicating due to the enormous losses I had suffered. What she said rang SO TRUE! I felt the words go through my whole soul and it gave me such a moment of perfect clarity about myself. I am so grateful to her for the way she has conducted my therapy. I felt deeply ashamed and guilty about what I had done to myself. One reason I had not previously sought therapy was because I was so scared of being dealt with by someone who would despise me and criticize me. My fears vanished from the first session because I was treated warmly and with deep respect, and this has continued over the years. Finding Dr Halligan saved… me when I thought nothing could and I’ll forever be grateful to her.

Intelligent, thoughtful, and caring are the first three words that come to mind when I look back at the last several years of my experience with Dr.Halligan. The treatment plan I'm on is tailored to my personal addiction. While most addicts share similar characteristics, we each have a unique addiction that needs specialized personalized treatment. This fantastic doctor saved my life. I know for a fact I would not be here writing this without Dr.Halligan. I have several years of sobriety thanks to her specialized treatment plan, individual cognitive behavioral therapy, and group therapy. She encouraged me to go to meetings and I now attending a meeting every single day. You will meet people in those rooms that become your friends and your family. It was not (and still at times isn't easy) to beat addiction. That being said if you put the work, time, and energy into it you will get a positive outcome. I truly believe the negative reviews on here are people who did not completely give… themselves to the program nor surrendered to their powerlessness over their addiction. But as we say; there are such unfortunates, they are not at fault, they seem to have been born that way. They are naturally incapable of grasping and developing a manner of living that demands rigorous honesty. Thanks to Dr.Halligan, my sponsor, my home group, my meetings, the people in my meetings, and also myself I got my life back. I would reccomend her strongly to anyone serious about finding out what drives their addiction and treating it to consult with her. If you are struggling reach out for help because you can beat this. Addiction in any form is cunning, baffling, powerful but you are just as powerful. One day at a time and pillow to pillow you will make it. I have been seeing Dr.Halligan since she started in private practice. Without her I know I would of never have gone these 10+ years clean.

Excellent addictionologist, knowledgeable and extremely helpful!

I was addicted to painkillers for 4 years when I met Dr. Halligan. Before I met her, I had failed rehab and Vivitrol shots. She spent 2 hours with my husband and I at our initial apptmt. She directed me to an awesome NA meeting which is now my home group. She hooked me up with a weekly trauma therapist. She motivated my husband and parents to attend Alanon and led my husband and I to see a wonderful couples' therapist. She treats me with compassion and without judgement. I feel important to her and she's there for me when I need her. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Halligan...she saved my life.

Although ‘Trish’ Halligan will come across as a caring, warm doctor who puts your best interests first, she is really only focused on her wallet. I went to her for years until I realized how full of it she was. She started asking me the same questions each time (like what I was doing for work... when I’ve been in the same job/career for 20 years!). It became clear that she was on autopilot and wasn’t asking questions if any value. She also always wanted to push high doses of suboxone when I would ask to lower my dose. She would say I wasn’t ready, and insisted on prescribing me 16-24mg/day! Let me tell you, I didn’t even need 8mg/day, and would up with a stockpile of meds because she refused to write a lower prescription, and got nasty when I didn’t fill my prescription every 30 days. She threatened to no longer see me if I didn’t follow her directions to a T, so in order to not get stuck without a suboxone doctor, I had no choice but to stockpile meds and pay $70/month for a… prescription that was far more than I needed. Clearly she benefited from writing this prescription, because I can’t see any other reason to insist like that! In addition, she would often cancel appointments at the last moment, with less than 24h notice. However, if you had to do the same, you would be charged nearly $200 by her. It is disgusting to know that people put their trust and faith into her, when she really and truly doesn’t care about you, beyond what is in your wallet. There are better doctors out there. Find one. Find any doctor other than this one. She’s not worth your time, your money or your health.

Working with her for the last few years. Randomly decided to withhold my medication refills without telling me, waiting for me to agree to go inpatient. Then discussed inpatient with her and she kept pushing the most expensive option that doesn't take insurance (Caron in PA). When my wife and I found a place that is covered by insurance and has a good program (that Halligan had heard of) Halligan would not write the pre-certification insurance paperwork. Told me she doesn't do that, as well as she was too busy over the next few days. Totally unprofessional.
