I have been a patient for many years, only recently have I had to have an implant procedure; this is where the billing nightmare is happening. MDC (Metro Dental Care) billing simply can not seem to get it right with United Concordia (my dental insurance provider), even after multiple phone calls, conference calls where I must mediate between MDC and UC, I am still sent bills that are grossly over billing me for what was previously established my cost share for procedures performed. Everything from not answering my calls (left voice message to call me back), to promising one thing and getting the bill that is grossly higher than what was agreed upon. Then having to go thru process again of having to find out why the bill is way over what it should be. Even if my dental insurance pays nothing toward a procedure, there is a negotiated price that is all I am supposed to be billed; this simply is not reality in MDC bills to me. Now, once again I have to get on the phone and call, call, call… before I finally get thru to billing to go over the bill and why it is wrong; I have to walk billing thru the negotiated pricing MDC has agreed on with UC and still they send me a bill that is way to high! All I can think is how many patients are being over billed because they do not have the time/resources to continually dig into what should be charged......I must say after months of this it really gets tiring.
