Dr. Patricia Suzanne Maska, MD

Dr. Maska is an excellent physician. She takes time to explain treatment options and is very thorough. I wish my other drs were as good as Dr. Maska.

Don't waste your time and money visiting this doctor. The nurses are unprofessional and rarely call you back. She seems eager to prescribe medicine without getting to the bottom of the issue.

Dr Maska is an extremely knowledgeable, intelligent, well-trained neurologist who is also empathic and compassionate. In my experience, this combination is rare. The wait to get an appointment is a reflection of the high demand I imagine she is in for her services. Her Oakland office staffing could be improved but, given her skills, she probably needs staff to protect her! (-:

terrible, Staff, Terrible advise while she sits behind computer and gives no direcection other than your to blam for not asking her the proper questions> mom left angry and upset over several visits to understand her meds and alzheimers diag. when asked as family memeber to discuss with her when whould we discusss with her about her disease.. she said slip a piece of paper with your notes before we meet and then I can answer your questions> Not great advise.. since my mom hates her. she was about five minutes late for one appointment after I had her transported to see her and meet her at appointment on one visit and she refused from reception to have her seen> are you kidding me? how unreasonable is this?. after all my Mom has alzheimers and I am paying the bills

She spent a lot of time with me checking out my symptoms. Her recommendation (to see a physical therapist) was absolutely the right thing to do and it worked great. She also avoided just suggesting standard work-ups like MRI or nerve-conduction tests because they would not have changed my treatment.Overall, an excellent physician.

I saw Dr. Maska for 6 months and she did nothing to help me with my migraines. She never listened to me and was more hooked on whatever was on her computer screen than she was with providing me with any help. She sat behind her pretty desk doing whatever and asking weird questions that had no relevance. When I asked her about what she thought was causing my migraines she said that wasn't her concern, she just wanted to treat them. And then didn't! I wasted 6 months on a doctor who was useless. My new neurologist is 10Xs better and actually listens!
