Dr. P Ann Ryan, DO

I was a patient of hers from 2003-10 in Laingsburg. In 2003, I injured my back. It took Dr Ryan 3 years before figuring out to send me to a pain clinic. During that 3 years, I gained 40-50 lbs because I was barely able to walk. This then lead to diabetes. In 2010, I broke my shoulder. It took over 3 weeks to read the X-ray. She never sent me on for any further testing or care. She left Laingsburg after that. For the life of me, I don't know why I stayed w her that long. .My rotator cuff was torn at that time and by 2014 I had shoulder surgery, but it was not reparable because it had been so long.I live w a sharp pinching shoulder pain now reminding me daily how she never followed up on it or sent me for orthpedic care.

I went in for a physical exam and hadn't expected to tell the doctor everything I could never tell anybody else about my abuse and addiction problems, but it just poured out of me. Dr. Ryan looked at me and said â??Wow, you have fortitude.â?? Fortitude! That was all it took for someone to say to me, and I had the motivation to get my life together. She didnâ??t say, â??Wow, you really didnâ??t handle being abused very well,â?? and she didnâ??t say, â??Wow, you really should stop telling people about all this, itâ??s embarrassing,â?? and she didnâ??t say, â??Wow, youâ??ve been acting very selfishly.â?? These are things people have actually said to me, but this doctor didnâ??t tell me I was weak or messed up or selfish or that I was wasting all of my potential, she told me I was strong. She told me she was glad I had survived long enough to get help and that Iâ??d be okay. This was two-and-a-half years ago and I'm happy to say that I'm healthy and sober thanks to this unexpected doctor.… Thank you, Dr. Ryan.

Dr. Ryan is a credit to herself and her patients. I was impressed with her uncanny observations and keen diagnoses of my condition and what was needed to "make it better." Dr. Ryan is a no-nonsense Doc. that might give you advice you don't always want to hear. Do not expect a popularity contest attitude from her...she wants the facts and is more than qualified to help you with whatever works, sometimes new. I never had a first-hand experience with her bedside manner but if that is a concern of yours, she is probably not your best choice.

My Dr. retired so my health care provider referred me to Dr. Ryan. I was so amazed at the quality of care she gave me at my first visit. She took the time with me too get to know alittle bit about me and she was so easy to talk to. I told her things that I never could talk about with my previous Dr. She is a very caring and compasionate person that I will dearly miss. Good luck Dr. Ryan at MSU!!! Come and see me at Landon Hall!
