Dr. Patricia A Walsh, MD

After reading all the positive reviews and deciding to make an appointment with Dr. Walsh, I was extremely disappointed with her approach and bedside manner. Let me start by saying the nursing student who completed my intake was wonderful. She was easy to talk to, especially about difficult/embarrassing medical things, and seemed very trauma-informed. If my visit had ended with the nurse practitioner and I never saw Dr. Walsh, I would give this review 5 stars. I won't go into incredible detail, but if you are a young woman struggling with mental health and/or women's health issues, do NOT go to Dr. Walsh. She is old, and obviously has made no effort to understand trauma and the effects of sexual assault on women. Additionally, she didn't believe me on so many things. I told the nurse that I had been misdiagnosed a few years ago with a disorder, and have since had professionals corroborate that it was a misdiagnosis. Dr. Walsh, instead if asking me about this, simply came into… the room and told me she needed me to go see a psychiatrist to make sure this diagnosis was inaccurate, so she could continue to prescribe my daily medication, which I depend on. Doctors should never, ever force patients to do this in order to receive medication they depend on. Additionally, Dr .Walsh did not believe me that I was not pregnant. She was starting me on birth control and refused to believe I use protection with my husband every time. She actually smirked when I told her. Even after agreeing to prescribe the birth control, she then told me I HAD to buy my own pregnancy test and take it at home before starting the birth control. This infuriated me beyond belief. Additionally, she spent the entire visit looking at the nurse practitioner and telling her what to type on the computer, completely talking around me and as if I was not there. There was no personal effort to create a safe environment for me by Dr. Walsh. I am seriously horrified by all the positive reviews. Maybe she just has a thing against young women. Regardless, I think it's time for her to retire and let the new generation of trauma informed doctors do their jobs.

the best doctor ever.....

You might have to wait a little longer to see the doctor if she has other patients in front of you , but that is because she spends as much time as needed on each patient.

You may have to wait a little longer to see Dr. Walsh... but its worth it. The amount of time and attention she gives you as a patient is unheard these days. She's also incredibly knowledgable regarding both medicine and specialists, if you need a referral.

She's one of the best doctor's I've seen. Although she's been practicing for a while, she still takes the time to listen to all of your concerns and is very thorough in her examination. Her referrals to specialist are also great. They too seem friendly and attentive like her.

literally for me...and on more than one occasion. God Bless her and I pray she never retires until after I'm gone!

She is a REMARKABLE MD and I would reccomend her to ANYONE she has been my MD for many years.
