First psychiatrist I ever saw. I walked in with a diagnosis of schizophrenia( I have since learned I am not schizophrenic), she did a brief evaluation and said I was on a good medication regime, and then she arbitrarily and with no explanation as to why, changed all of my medications. I began gaining weight as a side effect of the meds (80 lbs. in 6 months)was virtually in a coma sleeping 19 hours of the day and she sat there and said nothing about my weight gain or zombie like state as she continued to increase the dosage of my meds with each visit until they were well over the safety guidelines set down by the FDA. When I told her I had stopped menstruating and that it said on the medication label to tell your doctor if this happens b/c it could be a sign of a serious complication, she simply replied that it wasn't going to hurt me not have my period and that was the end of the discussion. Our office visits were a half hour long and mainly consisted of us sitting in silence and her… staring at me and making me uncomfortable until (I'm assuming) she became bored and asked if I had written any new stories lately and what they were about. I feel like our sessions were just easy money and cheap entertainment for her and that she really didn't care about me or my health at all.
