Dr. Patrick Joel Denard Jr, MD

I saw Dr. Denard for rotator cuff, labrum and bicep head damage. He explained what he saw on my MRI, his plan for the repair and timeline for recovery, all to my satisfaction. Any questions I did have were answered completely and in terms I could understand. At five months post surgery my weight restrictions were lifted and cleared to work. Dr. Denard and his team did a great job and I would highly recommend them to anyone in a similar situation.

I had a great visit with Dr. Dennard in regards to the follow up to my rotator cuff repair surgery. He was very gracious with his time answering numerous questions and his knowledge of where I’m at and what I should expect helped me feel comfortable going forward.

Dr Denard is punctual and explained my problem to me in a kind manner. He also gave me treatment options and explained the procedures to correct my problem and I look forward to a healthy outcome.

Dr. Dennard is very busy, but also took time to look me in the eyes, explain what was going on, and help me understand. He checked up on me immediately after surgery personally and helped me prepare for and recover from surgery. I have the upmost respect for him.

I submitted for the online MRI review. Got an extensive video evaluation back within 2 days. More that expected, very detailed. Also consulted Dr Denard via Zoom. Outstanding service. My wife is an anesthesiologist and she was on the call with me. She concurred as well - very experienced surgeon and skilled professional.

It’s been 13 months since Dr. Denard did a reverse shoulder replacement on my right arm. I have pain every day and I am unable to use it for a lot of things. His PA looked at the x-ray and said there was a small fracture and that’s what was causing my pain. I did a CT scan and met with Dr. Denard to go over it. He said he didn’t see any fracture and didn’t know what was causing my pain. I believe there is a fracture and there’s definitely something wrong. He treated me as if I didn’t know what I was talking about. He dismissed the fact that I’m in pain and actually seemed to be irritated by His suggestion was eat a high protein diet and take the supplement creatine, we’ll I’m doing that and so far it has not helped. I won’t return to Dr. Denard.

My experience with Dr. Denard unfortunately wasn't what I expected from someone with his experience. Went for a 2nd opinion for surgery on Rotater Cuff. I was told by Dr. Dennard that there was no tear, I do in fact have records and the pain proving there was in fact a tear. He didn't believe I had any pain. Acted as though I was wasting his time. I could try steroid injections but thats all he could do for me, WC is scary and confusing enough to navigate, especially when in pain after traveling 4 hours to see him. Range of motion was fine also. I told him I realize it is a workers comp case and he has one hand there and one with me the patient. He smirked and looked down and said yes, I told him I didn't feel as though he was taking me seriously. He barely explained how injections would work or that they would be very painful. Or what WC would do if I refused because I was scared. Never came back in the room after. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

The appointment was fast and through !

If it wasn't for Doctor Denard, I would have walked around with a non union for the rest of my life. He found it and fixed it.

Dr Denard was on time and he actually listens to me without being condescending. He assured me my shoulder was healing just fine even though I was concerned it wasn’t. He was thorough and I left the appt feeling reassured. Thank you!
