This Dr's bedside manner is absolulty horriffic. After he did spine fusion #1 I was laying in the hospital.bed and he calmly tells me "he has to open me uo again fix that little piece of bone that he left too sharp. He wondered at the time if that piece of bone was going to be an issue" to fix my CSF leak....after that surgery week #2 in hospital he tells me he has to open me up again #3 for 'duration washout' they discovered seratia, spinal mengitis in my wound vac fluid. I lay there barely able to speak in horroffic pain (my pain was not controlled) ask him how I got meningitis and that FOOL looks down at me and says ITS MY FAULT I PROBABKY DIDNT WASH MY BACK GOOD ENOIGH PRIOR TO 1ST SUEGERY. and I believed that for 4 years...agter meningitis being chronic...him not detecting it for months it layed there eating more of my spine and he just coild figure out why I wasn't healing, fusing, getting better. He Never checked until I ditched him 6 months post op and got a whole new team… that saved my life at the very last minute. I have been in medical PTSD counseling for a year because of him and learned I have PTSD because of him; his medical treatment and direct conversations. I have since learned the bacteria was likely either on implanted hardware or OR tools or in the OR. And THEY wash my back PREOP! I was 1 uear aheel chair, 1 year walker, 1 year cane, then 1 year too traumatized to even consider pain helping Medtronic Spinal Cord stimulator. Finally did it april 2025 and it has greatly helped. still.working thru PTSD but I have 85% mobility and pain reduction since his 1st surgery Nov 2021.

Seen Dr F after I ran my bicycle into my garage. He did an emergency surgery on my neck within a few hours of me wrecking my bike.. He seemed to follow up with me pretty good at the hospital. Then I went to my follow ups and I told him I'm still having back issues and neck issues. I had a former back and neck surgeries before this accident . And he says that he thought I needed another back surgery. Both my neck and back have titanium bars in there put their by his partner and now by him.. I get all of the test ( MRI) and go to my appt. by then he had joined a pain management group and wanted me to go there. I'm like what the f . Did you not read your notes ? Did you forget what we talked about ? So I said Ok that I would try it.. They are supposed to call me.. They don't.. I leave messages for weeks. Probably 4 maybe 5 times. I finally just forgot about it. That was 2 years this Aug 2025. I am in constant pain with my back and my neck. And its like how the heck can you find… another doctor.. All I want to do is wake up one day and not hurt.. I dont sleep. I barely eat and if I do , It's just cuz the stomach wants food. And to get or ask for anything to get you out of pain.. Its like asking for their left arm. Do you think I wanna hurt? that answer is NO.. I am almost 58 and I want to be able to do things with my grandkids. Doctors put you in this position.. I guess I should find myself grateful that Dr. Death didnt do my surgeries. But I can say. I wake up most days feeling like a ton of bricks is sitting on my lower back.. Just a shame that most of us have barely any choices. As far as a review for this particular Dr.. start caring more about your patients. Start caring about the people who help you get the big ticket surgeries.. Not do the surgery..then look at your phone for the bank deposit ... On another note.. I had foot surgery. and I gotta tell you that doc is amazing.. unfortunately you only have 2 feet . But some docs can take a lesson on overall care and bed side manner from him

Had a operation never given a pain pump never came to bed side also left me out didn't care about any pain I am worse now then I ever was had a HORRIBLE EXSPERIENCE RUN FOR YOUR LIE

Excellent skills. I was able to walk again after surgeries.

Visited for issues in my back, received an MRI and was called by the nurse as a follow up, told I had a herniated disc by the nurse and was referred to a pain clinic. No follow up, never saw the man again, nor was I asked to do any follow up, nor did he speak to me. I assumed this was normal, but after some thought this is pretty lame.

Aweful experience. Did not care to hear about my symptoms or what the referring doctor had to say. Spent two minutes in the room after a long wait in the office . Rude.

Run Away.. 2 infections in spine and too many spinal nerves cut, resulting in numerous other complications & almost No quality of life, only for him to say that he did what he needed to do, and then refused to see me again. Staff is short and this guy is always an hour late. Please consider another surgeon when this guy walks into Your exam room.. and I have the paperwork to back up this review also.

Dr. Flanagan repaired my multiple spinal fractures at AGH following an accident. He is a gifted surgeon. Thanks to Dr. Flanagan I made a complete recovery, my quality of life is excellent. I am forever grateful that I was not paralyzed. Mike(office manager) and Roz(nurse) are the best.

Found the office staff very pleasant and helpful. As far as the doc he needs to get a great amount of bedside manner, he's constantly late and i've waited atleast 45+ minutes each visit. as far as the the surgery he performed it's not done right, have stitches sticking out of my stapled incision, his lack of caring about pain also sucks, good thing my pcp is human.when i returned to his office for follow ups he was in a hurry and his nurse was not only rude but talked on the phone while trying to get my info, not cool, my only opinion is to stay away from this guy, i'm currently seeing another specialist since the incision has become slightly infected and the pain is almost as bad as it was when I first saw him. This is just my opinion but I do have the records to back up what I'm saying and the pictures to prove it.

He spent only about 2 minutes with me in the exam room. Tested my reflexes and that was about it. Didn't give any suggestions to help the pain or anything. When he said nothing was wrong with me and started to leave I said "A whole 2 minutes, are you kidding me?" What would make anyone go back to such an unprofessional doctor??
