My mother was a patient of Dr Hook. She had Rheumatoid Arthritis. He prescribed methotrexate, prednisone and xzeljanz all at the same time. He never informed her that she could become immune suppressed. He never informed her to stop taking the medication if she developed a sore throat, rash, or any type of infection. He never informed her to contact him if she developed a sore throat, rash or any type of infection. As a family we questioned the amount of medication she was on. She trusted this doctor. She had a very bad episode of brain fog and delusion. When I asked Dr Hook if it was medication, he said no. I have done tons of research to find that these drugs do indeed cause severe episodes of delusion. He didn’t monitor her blood work more thoroughly and insist that if she became ill to immediately contact him . As a result, she developed an infection which became septic. She started with a sore throat and died within a week. If she had been told by him what to do in case of sore… throat, she may have had the opportunity to receive appropriate care with antibiotics, but it was too Late! She passed away

I saw Dr. Hook for swelling in my hand. He didn't examine my hand. Instead he examined the rest of the joints on my body. He determined I didn't have joint problem. He told me to take Advil and follow up with him in 6 months. He was not prepared to see me as a new patient. He didn't review the x rays or bloodwork my primary doctor sent to him. The following day I saw a different doctor who did an extensive examination of my hand. He sent me for a MRI. The result of the MRI showed a REAL problem that no amount of Advil was going to take care. I called my insurance company to inform them of my experience with Dr. Hook. After talking with them I learned he submitted my diagnosis as osteoarthritis with pain. I'm baffled as to how he came up with that since he didn't examine my hand or see any x-rays. If he had looked at the x-rays he would've seen there is no arthritis in the area of swelling. I DO NOT recommend wasting your time or money on him.
