He was awarded the Harvey Cushing History of Neurosurgery Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and the Army Commendation Medal as a Major in the US Army Reserve Medical Corps. He is a clinical assistant professor of Neurosurgery at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport and Tulane University School of Medicine. He is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery, and is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), Society of Brigham Surgical Alumni, Louisiana State Medical Society and Lafayette Parish Medical Society.
