Dr. Patrick Baber Massey, MD

I love Dr. Massey, and have been going to him for many years. His expertise is wonderful and heals you the natural way, without meds. I find the wait time certainly to be more than acceptable. He has a gift from God and more than willing to share it with you.

I have been going to Dr. Massey's for many years and for many years I have tolerated Cheryl the receptionist's horrible, disrespectful, rude and mean comments. Today was the last day that I will be seeing him because of her. It's unfortunate that Dr. Massey knows about this horrible behavior yet he continues to keep her on as an employee. I can see from all these comments that I am not the only one that feels this way. Why she thinks she can ask medical questions and respond to medical questions is an interesting fact that I will investigate further. She has zero medical experience. What happened to the privacy act? I have to inform a receptionist of what is bothering me and I am not allowed to speak to the Dr. without an appointment. Dr. Massey - are you listening to your patients?

Dr. Massey is wonderful. His staff however (Cheryl) is rude and condescending. Every time I go in she has an attitude and talks down to you. She's like a Dr. Jekyl-Mr. Hyde. One minute cheerful, the next speaks to you as if she signs your paycheck. Hey, WE provide your paycheck. Lose the attitude, lady!

I was referred to Dr. M by my primary doctor for undiagnosed back pain. At our first visit he made me feel that he truly cared and promised to get me well. I trusted him. I soon started PT with his wife and was very compliant with my exercises even though after many months, I was not getting better and maybe even worse. He did a lot of tests and couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. Lots of out of pocket expenses for massage ( which was wonderful), IV supplements ( which didn't help) and PT beyond what my insurance would pay. Now, a few months ago my new primary doctor finally figured out what my issue was- Lyme Disease. I quickly shared the news with Dr. M's office , hopeful this would give them new direction with treatment. Much to my surprise , it was quite the opposite and they said just to keep doing the "cookie cutter" movements that PT had gave me until I could walk a half mile with no pain. What? Yes, this is what their office said. Dr. M promised to write a… letter to my insurance to get additional coverage for PT and although I followed up numerous times, he never did that nor did he offer an explanation. Furthermore, his office promised my mother they would send a letter detailing why they simply stopped helping me over two months ago, and they never did. Lyme disease is serious and I am very ill. Having being treated by this Dr. like this, after I trusted him, is very disheartening. I feel that it's all about money. If I would have had more insurance maybe they wouldn't have stopped treating me. I do see a lot of great reviews about this Dr. in the past when he ran the PT program but I don't see a lot recently. My massage therapist had me question some of the moments that the PT was having me do because she felt they were counterproductive to my pain, but the PT never replied. Instead she wanted to put me on a steroid medication for the inflammation. I write this so others will think twice before believing what this or any other dr. says. I am lucky that I found a new physician that is caring and understanding to my issues. They don't just say they care, They really do. I am so disappointed in this office that I felt the need to write this review which is something I have never done before. The massage therapist at the office is wonderful and I give her very high marks from start to finish. The Doctor and PT were great at the beginning but did very little for me at the end, including not having the courtesy to return a phone call or email. Please beware.

I recently saw Dr. Massey at the advice of a co-worker that had worked with him professionally and had referred family and friends who reported back some great things about his treatments. After a car accident in 2005, I have had surgery, physical therapy, injections and medicines. None of them alleviated my pain. Some worked temporarily, but acted only as a band-aid. My pain managment doctor suggested "alternative medicine" since all he could offer was a temporary fix. While "traditional, western medicine" had nothing left to offer, Dr. Massey has offered hope---and some really good alternative treatments that are reducing the pain. While I can't say what the long term prognosis is just yet, I am feeling much better after just a few recommended treatments. His bedside manner is warm and compassionate. I would readily recommend him to family and friends.
