Dr. Patrick McCulloch, MD

Dr McCulloch is an extremely knowledgeable, very caring Orthopedic Surgeon. He has performed 2 surgeries on me and I highly recommend him for anyone in need of Orthopedic Surgery and care.

I flew from Ashland, Oregon to Houston, Texas to see Dr. Mcculloch to repair a ruptured distal bicep tendon. In Oregon, only the P.A. examined me and determined that I was not a good candidate for surgery because it was 6 months since the injury, and the tendon was worn and not repairable due to my age (71). By contrast, Dr. Mcculloch examined me on my first visit and advised me that my age was not a problem and that although the surgery would be more difficult due to delay since the injury, he was optimistic and scheduled me for surgery the following week. His effort to accommodate my limited time in the State was greatly appreciated. Although he is a premier surgeon to elite professional athletes, astronauts, and performing artists, you would never know it, because he is very low key, kind, and focused on how he can help the patient. Dr. McCulloch was able to reattach my tendon in 30 minutes. I now, once again, have the joy of picking up my grand baby and doing so much more… that was impossible with a ruptured bicep tendon. Dr. McCulloch was amazing. He was able to fit me in after I had somehow screwed up my left shoulder. He took the time to spent with me to actually understand what was going and also get to know what was going on with my wife (who was pregnant at the time). He remembered that and at each followup appointment wanted to know how my wife and new infant daughter were doing. He took the time to get to know me and my family in that way instead of just rushing in and out like most doctors seem to do these days.

My Dr. McCulloch "experience" was great. He alleviated the chronic pain in my knee (torn medial & lateral meniscii) through his very proficient surgical skills. I will keep his name in my book for future orthopedic needs....

I cannot adequately express my gratitude and appreciation for Dr. Patrick Mcculloch’s excellent care and support for helping me overcome the excruciating shoulder pain I was experiencing. Doctor Mcculloch was very busy that day but still accepted to see me on a very short notice. Due to the severe pain I was experiencing, he admitted me immediately and took the time to thoroughly check and diagnose my condition. Instead of rushing to suggest surgery, Dr. Mcculloch preferred to try first a non-invasive method. It worked! His assistants and staff, starting with the courteous receptionists, are genuinely kind and friendly. Thank you and your able staff Dr. Mcculloch. You are a credit to the medical profession.

Went to Dr. McCulloch for shoulder pain. Very friendly and attentive. Did shot and rehab, no change. An MRI revealed a rotator cuff tear. He recommended surgery. Got second opinion (concurred), then researched alternatives and the various surgical techniques used. Met with Dr. McCulloch and he patiently addressed all my questions and concerns and described the techniques and procedures he would use. Agreed to surgery. He anchored my supraspinatus tendon and performed a tenodesis. The surgery went well. Pain was minimal as I was sent home with nerve block pump (three days) then minimal dose of Vicodin (three days). Started rehab after two weeks at the Methodist clinic on the West Loop. Got the all clear after 22 weeks. Can’t say enough about the professionalism and helpfulness of Dr. McCulloch and his team; Nickarr, Laura (PA), Robert Rojas (PT) and the Methodist staff. Little or no waits at my scheduled appointments. I highly recommend Dr. McCulloch.

I saw Dr. McCulloch after a catastrophic shoulder injury, including a broken socket and torn rotator cuff. In this day and age, one can't be too careful about the surgeon that one chooses. And, after visiting one surgeon at a respectable clinic in Houston, I still had no confidence. I then sought the advice of a long-time family friend who directed me to his partner, Dr. McCulloch. From the outset, Dr. McCulloch made me comfortable that he knew exactly what to do. Surgery was six months ago and I am now at 100%. I cannot possibly say enough good things about Dr. McCulloch, his staff, and the physical therapy at Methodist. I owe them my shoulder and they have my undying gratitude for their professionalism, care, and ability. My father was an eye surgeon in Houston for almost 60 years, so my standards are incredibly high. Dr. McCulloch is, put simply, the best there is!
