I can honestly say I feel better after having surgery 2 days ago than I did when I walked into the hospital. If you’re looking for a surgeon that knows what he’s doing, communicates directly, and his passionate about his work, Dr. McNulty is your man!

I highly recommend Dr McNulty after having two surgical procedures, once in 2007 and the other, 2019. His abilities as a surgeon are excellent and of course he has wonderful office staff! Definitely would recommend him to anyone with spine issues!

Dr. Patrick McNulty is absolutely the best spine doctor in the world. Prior to meeting him 18 years ago I had been in pain with my back for years even having surgery to repair discs two years prior with another surgeon. Dr. McNulty performed a fusion to my lower back which has been good ever since. Due to degenerative disc disease I have kept in touch and in 2015 he determined that my cervical spine now needed surgery. In 2017 again another area due to the degenerative disc disease needed fusion which I will ONLY let Dr McNulty complete and that he did. In 2019 another of my disc’s herniated and again Dr. McNulty has fused the area and now I am totally pain free. As I told him if he said that was what I needed then I trusted him and let’s do it. In between the first two surgeries he had done on me I had moved out of Las Vegas and immediately told everyone that should something happen to my back they were to put me on a plane to Vegas to see Dr. McNulty and that no other doctor was to… touch my back. He is the best and I will always trust him with my back issues. Some say his bedside manner is not good but I will differ in that he has always been pleasant with me and very straightforward. Something I wish all doctors would do. Don’t beat around the bush tell me like it is even if it is not what I want to hear. He is the one doctor that after surgery when my husband called to ask questions he himself returned the call not one of his nurses. He is amazing and I thank him for all he has done to give me back a quality of like I thought was gone forever. Thank you Dr. McNulty!!!

Dr. Patrick McNulty Dr. McNulty is an excellent doctor. He explained everything in detail, showed us my father’s MRI and explained what needed to be done. He insisted that my father be seen by a vascular doctor also not just a cardiologist before surgery. As it turned out my father had a 60% blockage in his right carotid artery to his brain and had to have a stent put in. I don’t know what might have happened to my father if not for Dr. McNulty. He actually reads my father’s charts and reports from the other doctors, not just ask us why we’re here. He is a straight forward no nonsense doctor, which I greatly appreciate. Dr. McNulty also has the most helpful, professional and caring supporting staff that I and my father have ever encountered. If you want a watchdog doctor that puts you or your family member’s needs first, this is your doctor!! I can not thank him and his support staff enough!

Dr McNulty provided excellent service for both a fractured L3 and L4 as well as bulging disc. Both visits he was complete in his explanation as well as his tests to determine my issues. He advised me of all my options as well as what he felt was the best treatment he would follow. I would highly recommend seeing him for your spine.

Dr. McNulty is a fantastic doctor but his staff is horrible. They don't answer the phone. I have an issue after my surgery & I need to make an appointment & they won't answer the phone or return my messages. It's very aggrevating. This has happened several times & I doubt the doctor is aware of what goes on. Before my surgery, I had several appointments at different doctors for tests. The all said that Dr. McNulty is great but they would never go back because of his staff. These were professional medical people. I don't like leaving reviews like this, but I'm at my witts end trying to make an appointment. If I have to drive into town to make an appointment because they won't return my calls, it's 100 mi round trip. The problem is one of his staff has worked there for years & her daughter works there too. I was too afraid to bring this up to the doctor a year ago because this staff member played games with us. She accused us of changing our insurance behind her back, which we didn't.… She then told us that I wouldn't be having surgery anyway because they ALWAYS deny pre authorization. He's great, but his staff brings him down.

I will shout to the hill how blessed I was to meet Dr Patrick McNulty. He is an AWESOME doctor who knows his craft. I trusted his decision for my back surgery and glad I did.. Dr McNulty spent time with me took the time to look at my film and explained to me what the problem was. I love that he is a straight shooter who has a heart for his patients care. If you want a doctor who has integrity, give accurate diagnosis and you want straight answers than I highly recommend Dr McNulty he is the BEST!!! Forever my go to Orthopedic surgeon..

Our experience with Dr. Mc Nulty was a NIghtmare! He attempted a surgery that another surgeon said was very ambitious. The surgery started as a thoracotomy, in which he was going to deflate a lung. While doing such, my wife's vital signs dropped and the surgery was aborted. My wife decided not to forgo another attempt the following day. He called me to convince my wife ro proceed, but in the early morning she said she was not feeling well and cancelled. That morning he came to her room and ranted and belittled her saying she was, "irrational, irresponsible, and inconsiderate in cancelling. My son and daughters were in the room and thankfully the nursing staff as well to confirm his actions. He then left the room and I approached him as he was heading back to my wife' room and I asked if I could talk to him and he emphatically said, "No you can't!" My response to him was, "you may be a great physician and a great surgeon, but that does not give you the right to belittle her",… and about that time he was standing at the foot of her bed and said, "I can do and say anything I want!" Later that afternoon I arrived to a room filled with about 10 hospital staff members including 2 Drs. My wife suffered a TIA (similar ro a stroke). Next morning Dr. Mc Nulty entered the room and stated, it's a good thing you cancelled the surgery, because we couldn't have done anything (referring to the TIA). His next words were absolutely astonishing as he told my wife, "we'll see you in the office next week and think about doing it again. My adult children and I looked at each other and thought, you must be out of your mind. Leading up ro the surgery two of my children asked about the success rate of the surgery and his response to each of them was, "and who are you?" Later I was asked which hospital my wife was at, and I said UMC. I was told that it was a teaching hospital and obviously he felt the need to impress with his Godlike abilities. From 0-10 with ten being Superior, he gets a 0 for bedside manner, 0 for personality, 0 for ability to interact with others, and ??????? for practicing abilities.
