Dr. Patrick K Okamura, MD

DR OKAMURA HAS THE WORSE BEDSIDE MANNER I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I'm one that has no time to post, unless it truly means trying to having someone NOT have to endure what I did at the URGENT CARE in Kona. I waited over an hour, and finally got in. Dr Okumura came in sat down, i said hello politely, and he barely even looked me in the eyes, and proceeded to interrogate me on my symptoms, like I committed a crime. When I started to explain, he looked up from his Ipad, cuts my off, and puts his hands up clearly annoyed cause he just wants the "facts" so cold and unkind. Obviously at 70 years old, he should not be a Dr, because empathy should be apart of the process. I had a bad cold, and in a condescending tone, explained to me that he needs to "educate" me on how to clean my sinus etc., like I was 5 years old. I felt humiliated and belittled. He'd even told me that he didn't know why he was taking the time to explain, since he was busy. (mind you there were no other patients waiting… and I had been in his room for only 15 minutes). I had tears in my eyes, and was going to just leave, but i had to get better, because my best friend has cancer and wanted me to go celebrate her 50th birthday on Maui the next day. In 52 years I have never had a doctor make me feel like this.
