Dr. Patrick Jackson Spalding, MD

A word of caution with this Dr.....think many times before becoming a patient!!! I went in for a NovaSure Procedure, nothing else was authorized by me or my insurance...he performed a partial DNC when I confronted him, he stopped, and I left. He & his staff refuse to give me a copy of my medical records. The CA State Medical Board working on my case currently-still NOT complying. They also refusing to refund my money for a procedure that was not done. I have a case pending elsewhere for this.

I had to have a procedure that would be using a local anesthesia. This would be done in his SLO office, on a Saturday, without an anesthesiologist. I discussed my concerns with Dr. Spalding regarding pain control. I am on permanent disability and a chronic pain management patient. After going round and round he assured me I was overly concerned and for no reason at all!! However, that was NOT the case! During the procedure, the pain was extremely intense…I could not take it! When I asked if he was almost done he said he was on step 2 of 10 of a D&C… I was stunned…. I didn't know what to think….I NEVER AUTHORIZED one!!! Due to the pain he had to stop and was not able to even begin the 90 second-painless procedure I was there for. While checking out, the staff wanted me to schedule a different procedure, I declined. I have requested a refund for the procedure that was not preformed…my requests have gone ignored, unanswered. Since that time I requested a copy of my medical… records. I even signed the Medical Release Form. Over the course of a month I continued to get excuses from office staff and the office manager with different reasons why they can't get them to me. I have been promised numerous times that I will be getting a return call from the office manager, even from the office manager herself, with not one of those calls being returned. A month has passed now, no phone call and no medical records.

I've been a patient for 12+ years and the staff is so wonderful that I look forward to my visits every time. They have been there for me for 3 of my pregnancies and every time their professionalism outshines. I would not trade them for anyone else.

Where do I begin? He had no clue what he was talking about!!! He was rude, arrogant, and an hour late to the appointment. never even apologized. THEN he has the nerve to interrupt me mid-sentence and tell me he had an emergency at the hospital... as I was checking out I saw him sitting and eating lunch. I asked the receptionist where the doctor went and she said, "he is on lunch break".. I was appalled! He lied to me just to cut the appointment short. Then I asked the receptionist some questions about a procedure he wanted me to have. Dr Spalding has the nerve to come out and tell me (in front of other patients) that it wont hurt (yes it does! i have had it and it hurt so bad) and he starts discussing my medical history right out in the open!! I was so upset. I wound up not scheduling anything with his office and thank god... he has a BAD reputation in the area and now i know why

He was so rude and condescending during my appointment. He made me wait an HOUR to be seen. He never apologized for the wait. Then he cut the appointment short, which I have heard from numerous people he is notorious for doing. He will claim he has an emergency or has to see other patients just so he can leave right at 5pm or so he can go to lunch. He spent more time telling me about my body than I did. I thought the purpose of the visit was for ME to tell him what was going on with me? I mentioned a procedure being painful and he told me it wouldnt be. That's funnny.. I am the one who had this procedure done at a different GYN's office and it did hurt! I also think I know my body best. I have never seen a more arrogant GYN in my life. What a joke, he has poor bedside manner!

Terrible bedside manner. Pushed a tampon in after a Pap smear.

His office is wonderful, however him not so much. Six ways to skin a cat does not give me the advice a need. I have pain and he seemed shocked. I asked what to do and his response "Well there are Six ways to skin a cat". Well which way are we going to skin it...... I am going elsewhere.

Will not be a good choice and seems driven to brainwash others doesn't seem to like people needs help from G-d through Jesus His heart seemed quite dark but I think there is hope for him I think he Could be a great man and I know G-d gave him talent but his role is serious and he is really hurting others!!!!!!!!!!! May G-d give him his measure back to humble him to salvation in Jesus

First appt. I saw a mid wife. I'm not pregnant. She was nice and ordered some routine test. Called me a week later and didn't seem to know how to read the test or what they meant. I wrote down what she said and looked it up myself. Had to have another test done by the Doctor. He seems nice BUT I had the test done on a Thursday. The Dr. said it would take a few days but if I didn't hear from them to call so I waited a week and called. She said I will pull your chart and call you back. That took about three hrs only to be told they didn't have the results back yet. Ok fine. I called back exactly another week later and told her why I was calling. She said Let me pull your chart and I will call you back. She never did. The doc thinks I have an infection so if I do then it seems to me I would need some antibiotics. They are closed on Friday so now I will have to wait until next week. That's very unprofessional in my opinion.

Last month I landed in the ER with incredible pain and was so scared. He came and calmly explained what was going on, talked over the options with me and soon I was waking up and he was there explaining what had happened to my husband and I. I had been bleeding internally and had lost a lot of blood. Now, I am feeling great, back to normal, but with a new, awesome doc!
