Dr Sweeney is a native of Wheatridge. He attended the local schools and graduated from Jefferson High in 1975. Soon after he decided that he wanted to be a dentist. He went on to study at Creighton University and earned his DDS degree in 1983. Dr. Sweeney has practiced dentistry for 28 years.
Over the years, Dr. Sweeney has thoroughly enjoyed his continuing education courses. He has taken extra courses in crowns, bridges and dental implants. He really enjoys providing comprehensive care for all of his patients.
Currently, Dr. Sweeney is a member of the American Dental Association and the Metro Denver Dental Society. Dr. Sweeney is also a member of the Delta Dental of Colorado, Distinguished Achievement Network which provides excellent preventative care and outstanding service to patients. He is also associated with the Colorado Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped and 9 Health Fair.
He also travels abroad with a Methodist group out of Salt Lake City …(to Guatamala) to perform dental care in remote villages where there is no electricity. He has extracted approximately 1200 teeth while on these trips.
He has two adult boys. In his spare time he loves to go skiing, and he is a certified member of the Ski Patrol at Sol Vista Ski Resort. He also enjoys playing tennis, riding road bikes, kayaking and enjoying the outdoors.
