Dr. Patti J. Ross

Dr. Ross is excellent doctor. I just simply love her to pieces. She is always happy and smiling also very easy to talk to. She delivered 3 of my children and I couldn't have asked for a better OBG. I have recommended her and will continue to do so in future.

I went for an HPV vaccine and renewal of birth control that I was taking for PCOS/irregular periods when I was 22 after moving down for school (never sexually active--never had a boyfriend or anything). Because I needed this stuff she was insisting on doing a pap smear. I pointed out how the studies say its not necessary for virgins at this age and she said she has had patients come in as virgins with STDs (kind of sounded like she didn't believe me I was a virgin). She was very rough with exam and yelled because I was anxious (making me more anxious) and couldn't get the exam done and I had to come back and asked for another doctor at the practice who was much better at doing the exam and more calm/gentle. Of course the results of the pap smear/internal were fine.

Throughout my high risk pregnancy she constantly showed a lack of interest or concern regarding my questions and physical well-being. I had 12 ultrasounds my first trimester and was considered to have a threatened miscarriage. When delivering my son the residents (no doctor was present for my delivery) stretch both my femoral nerves, leaving me unable to move both legs for 3 months! I was in the hospital for 4 days after a vaginal delivery. The neurologist was attempting to reach her (since she was technically my admitting doctor) to order an MRI for me. It took her 2 DAYS to come across the skybridge to see me. Another doctor had to threaten to go to the Chef of Staff if she didn't come see me or make some orders. I was in NICU visiting my son so I missed her first attempt. The next day I saw her she was discharging me. I explained I lived on the third floor apartment at that time and since I was unable to walk I was nervous about going home. (I worked for the hospital I delivered at… and know that discharge needs to be to a safe and accessible placement.) She very condescendingly stated, "Well, do you want me to put you in a nursing home?" I never went back to her for after care. I always had a bad feeling about her, but my husband liked her. After all was said and done he agreed that we should have switched providers.

The worst medical experience was with Dr Ross, i had just moved to Houston and needed to follow up with an ob since i was in my 27th week.. the minute she walked in i felt the tension and negativity from her attitude.. she did not want to listen and kept interrupting me and my husband until i almost cried and it was my first pregnancy !!! She did not bother to read my medical records and asked me general questions which were unnecessary at that point since everything was written in those records which were sent to her office weeks before! What bothered me the most along the negative attitude was how her behavior changed the minute she understood we arrived from Dubai and sweetness started to show at that point however all she wanted to discuss then was money! .. I managed to pull through this visit but I never went back to her clinic.. a doctor should be sympathetic with patients and what i saw from Dr Ross was anything but sympathy

Greeted nicely by front receptionists, pretty prompt with getting in and getting vitals. Waited about 20 min to see Dr. Ross. She was quick, I mean quick...5 min to do a pap smear, feel your breast, abdomen, ask basic questions and she was done. I did meet with her in her office after being seen and we discussed my medical history and concerns.

Staff tried to charge us for ultrasound three times even though covered by insurance

I feel like I've FINALLY found a good gynocologist. She has been so generous in making sure that my concerns are addressed and resolved. Having special circumstances, I've noticed most doctors turn away because they just don't have time to deal with anything more than the 15 minutes you spend with them at your appointment. She has been great with follow-up and she called me instead of a nurse reading just my results over the phone. I expect a lot of my doctors and always have. I feel confident in her knowledge and her experience as a gynocologist and I'm glad I found her.
