Dr. Paul David Ackerman, MD

Dr. Ackerman operated on my cervical spine “911” situation in 2017. It is 2025 as I write this and I am still so grateful. He explained the situation without freaking me out keeping calm me. His office handled the pre surgical appointments and my employer without flaw. I had no idea how bad off I was despite falling and bleeding walking to work. The pain was becoming unbearable. I just thought it was shoulder pain from lifting so much for so many years. Dr. Ackerman took care of me before and obviously during my surgery and after. He was at my bedside with my spouse after surgery checking in. He answered my calls with concerns during my recovery at home. This brilliant, kind and compassionate neurosurgeon is the best! I highly appreciate and recommend him.

My opinion of Dr Paul Ackerman is not one that is very high. The circumstances regarding my association with him is he was the neurologist or neurosurgeon who performed a brain biopsy on my younger brother. He did this yesterday and last night he called my niece who was by herself and left a young girl to tell her father.. I left my house this morning at 5:15 in order to get to the hospital before Dr Ackerman would get here to talk to my brother. it seems that it was unnecessary because at 7:15 this morning Dr Ackerman called the nurses station and had them bring a phone to my brother. He then proceeded to tell my brother the bad news and my brother said I can't talk to you. My brother gave me the phone. Dr. told me and said any questions and hung up. I find this atrocious that this man could not take the time to come in and tell my brother what was wrong. I would have no recommendations for him. I understand he is an amazing neurosurgeon but he is a very lousy man because a good… man would not do this to another human being. My opinion of him is not good and I just want to let the world know thank you

My mother recently fell and fractured 3 bones in her spine. She was referred to dr ackerman. What a mistake!! My sister took her to see him and after being bored with the questions they asked him he said surgery was the only answer without examing her. We took her for 3 more opinions and NONE of the neurosurgeons recommended surgery. It is now 10 weeks post injury and after a competent dr prescribed the CORRECT cervical collar it will be removed WITHOUT surgery. Beware of this person who calls himself a doctor

My 91y/o mother was seen by Dr Ackerman for a cspine fracture. He told her surgery was the only answer after no physical exam. And the way he talked down to her was totally unacceptable. We took her for 3 more opinions, none of whom recommended surgery stating that it will heal on its own after prescribing the correct cervical collar. She is now 6 weeks post injury and doing very well. I wouldn't take my dog to this guy. Needs to learn how to interact with pts. Wish i could give him minus stars. Plus the office wait was very long

This surgeon below is BEYOND dangerous and incredibly demeaning as well as irresponsible! Dr. Brent Young Kimball. Horrible. It’s like he’s butchering patients on purpose. He has reviews removed somehow. Lawsuits. Nerve damage, brain injuries and even partial blindness claims one patient. He makes a nasty mistake and cuts you down like a tree. Wish I lived where there were responsible surgeons

Dr. Paul Ackerman saw everything on an MRI that many previous doctors' missed. He performed a very serious spinal operation on my husband and the outcome was the best possible scenario, which I believe is solely because of the expertise of Dr. Ackerman. He is highly recommended. His office staff is also very, very caring and professional; just like Dr. Paul.
