Dr. Paul Stephen Baecher, MD

Caring, compassionate, excellent doctor.

I loved Dr. Baecher at Valley Medical but since he became a "partner" in Dr. Atkinson's practice things have drastically changed. You have this feeling that he has her looking over his shoulder for all medication he prescribes - especially pain medication. When I had to see Dr. Atkinson (because Dr. Baecher wasn't available) she changed several of my medications without really knowing my medical history. I would then go back to Dr. Baecher and he would just shake his head. I felt my doctor wasn't in charge of my health at all. Also, he is quite scattered and you feel that from appointment to appointment (even with records) that he's forgotten your medical history. Lovely man - but so glad I left this horrible practice.

ever since he switched practices.....has gone downhill....he is not as nice...has certain rules he never has had...and his office staff is rude and not a nice office

Doctor B has been my doctor for only a year or so. I went to him after he was recommended by family. He seems very kind and caring and always has spent time with me I needed. I have no worries about his diagnosis. I have had other doctors who after several years didn't recognize me or even know my name. I feel lucky to have Dr. Baecher.

I have been patient of Dr. Baecher for over fifteen years the first thirteen of which I experienced him as a competent physician. Over the last two or so years his diagnostic competence has slipped substantially. Based on three second opinions reliable evidence disclosed that two and a significant portion of a third of his diagnoses were totally erroneous. Needless to say, regretably I can no longer rely on his diagnoses. His primary motive now seems to be making money at the expense of at least this patient's Medicare account and pocketbook.

Dr. Baecher is the best doctor I have ever been to. He has diagnosed illness that I have had that no other doctor in the emergency room would even consider. Has requested test for an ongoing problem that the other doctors didn't even think to do, when a specialist said he wanted this test I was able to tell his MY doctor had it done. He follows up on his patients. Calls them to make sure everything is going as it should. I will never go to another doctor. He is by far the best. I have had a lot of sickness in my life, which means a lot of doctors. Dr.Baecher is my primary and I will have no one else, he is by far the best doctor I know. He deserves five stars, not four.
