Dr. Paul Bannen is a dedicated medical oncologist and hematologist who has been serving the Olney community for over 20 years.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia School of Medicine, completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, and went on to complete a fellowship at Georgetown University. Recognized as a “Top Doc” by both Washingtonian and Bethesda magazines, Dr. Bannen is deeply committed to patient-centered care, which remains the cornerstone of his practice.

Absolutely amazing! I am so blessed to have such good care. I would definitely recommend Dr. Bannen to anyone needing an oncologist.

I have been seen by Dr Bannen for over 3 years. I have had several times where I have had to go to the ER bc of clotting issues. Every time he checks on me in person or calls me. He is intelligent & up to date about newest therapies & treatments. His staff is always kind & understanding. He is a wonderful man & doctor. There are not many like him out there in the medical community.

My review is primarily based on the handling and communication of Personal Health Information. Dr. Bannen or med records dept should be and is required to tell a patient 1.Who has received my Protected Health Info 2. What PHI was sent and 3. When PHI was sent. Dr. Bannen's med records dept was unable and unwilling to provide requested information, she would only give me a list of specialists contained within my record. Keep in mind, that the WHO, WHAT and WHEN was generously given out to me on previous phone call(s). Their are laws that empower us as Patients to be good stewards of our Protected Health Information. If you don't care about Patient Rights and specifically the handling of your Personal Health Information, then Dr. Bannen's office won't either.

In 2011,Glenn was critical colon & bladder cancer,and many problems. then 2 colon mets to lungs. With Dr. Woodward and Dr. Bannen',s care and treatment, which was so advanced and so specific in knowledge and care., I am their miracle of cancer recovery from 2011 to present. These two doctors are so skilled and professional, knowledge updates, caring , friendly person. They are the best and need of them. Thank you Dr. Bannen And Dr. Woodward. Eva is also being treated by both doctors, for Lymphocyte Predominance and prevent Lymphoma and some surgical issues.

I was glad Dr. Bannen listens well and trusts his patients are telling him the truth about their symptoms and experiences. He had an accurate diagnosis that resulted in me getting much better from a somewhat rare condition that was missed by my internist. I am grateful to have a competent and kind doctor who helped me so much. The staff could be friendlier and more professional but, I may have caught them on difficult days.
