Dr. Paul Lawrence Baron, MD

A breast cancer survivor, I had a terrible experience with Dr. Baron. I am a long-standing patient of 20 years with a different doctor, who retired, in this office. Even though I requested the customary mammograms to be performed *prior to the appointment,* his staff - on Baron's orders - refused to set it up. After 20 years, I know the drill for my yearly cancer check-up. Since I had breast cancer before, the doctor needs to be able to view the latest radiological films prior to the appointment - or while I'm there. That Problem No. One. Problem No. Two: Then when he walked into his office with two women - an attractive female resident, whom he was trying to impress I guess, and his PA - he had me stand in the middle of the room. He instructed me to disrobe. Then he told me to place my hands on my hips. I stood there half naked in front of 3 total strangers while they looked at my breasts. I had never met the guy before. He showed absolutely no regard, or interest for that matter, in… me. It was a humiliating experience. Problem No. Three: he gave the worst manual breast exam I've had from any doctor, ever, never mind a so-called breast cancer specialist. He may as well have not bothered because he wouldn't have found any lumps/tumors even if I had them. I do not know how he was appointed chief of surgery. Maybe he is a good bureaucrat. But doctor? No.

Dr Baron is amazing - easy to talk to and he explains everything! My incisions healed so well you can hardly see them .

He is the most compassionate, caring doctor....And extremely patient with All of your questions and family members...He is AWSOME answering questions and explainjng your surgery and treatment plans....

Everything was wonderful. I wouldn't change anything about the handling of my situation.

My experience with Dr. Baron was horrible. He and his staff were very dishonest with me regarding my biopsy results, they outright lied to me. They told me as little as possible about my tumor and seemed to get disgusted with me when I asked for answers. Dr. Baron spent more time bragging about being a specialist than explaining my condition, risks or options. I also learned, after the fact, that he ordered unnecessary imaging for me, presumably to run up the cost. I never saw him again after my surgery, not that day and not at any of my follow up visits, he left my care to his assistant. If you want a doctor you can trust and value honesty, please get a second opinion. The good reviews must be from women who think being lied to is OK, I know there a many who just don't want to know everything about their condition and possible outcomes because they find it "too scary". For me, trust is a much bigger issue.

Dr. Barron is one of the nicest doctors that I have ever met. He spent as much time with me as I needed and explained everthing that was going to happen. I would recommend him to anyone needing an excellent surgeon.

Dr. Baron is highly skilled, and, since his specialty involves life and death this is the most crucial element. He is very current on research and medical practices and I give him the hightest rating for understanding breast disease and the right methods for treatment for each individual patient.He has earned the lifelong gratitude of many many women (and their families) and is highly respected in the medical community. Doctors from out of state routinely send patients to Dr. Baron. Dr. Baron is by nature a caring person and never forgets that cancer impacts the entire person, not just the breast. Bottom line is this. If you have breast issues you cannot afford to involve anyone but the very best surgeon, and that is Dr. Baron.

I had lumpectomy x 2 with no problems. Dr. Barron and staff was warm and caring very attentive to my needs and wants. No wait time, all questions answered in a way I could understand. I would not take my breast to any other office, he is the best and the staff made me feel like family. The office is very easy to find and parking was never a problem.
