Dr. Paul Wade Bauer, MD

My son has a speech delay. After receiving a hearing test through Cooks we discovered that he had moderate hearing loss due to fluid. Cooks wanted to wait until November (6 months) to retest his hearing before referring to an ENT. Our pediatrician recommended Dr. Bauer. He was able to see us quickly. He has an audiologist in his office which makes it very easy. We found that 2 months later my son still has fluid in his ear. Dr. Bauer talked us through his recommendations and agreed with my understanding of how important it is to correct his hearing due to his speech delay. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained the risks vs. rewards of the surgery. I was extremely anxious about my son being put under for the surgery. He listened to my concerns and provided me with specific detail about the anesthesia process as well as outlined the risks. I am so glad we found Dr. Bauer and that he is treating my son with care.

Dr Bauer was my daughter’s surgeon for her tubes when she was 2. Now she is 10. Having horrible throat and tonsils issues. Decided to take her back to him for tonsils. Made our appt, arrived filled out paperwork. Apparently my ex did not pay his half of her last procedure ($224). So I agreed to pay but needed to wait 3 days til payday. He refused to see my daughter until it was paid! I am an RN. This is a HUGE red flag if a provider is more worried about money than a child. Beware!

Dr. Bauer has terrible bedside manner. He made me feel dumb and not worthy of his time. He spoke to me as if I was not educated and would not answer my questions. He was very snappy and rude. He is a very "to the point" doctor who doesn't sugarcoat. While that is definitely a good thing, his delivery is terrible. He is not sensitive to new mothers and their concerns.

After a 40 minute wait, Dr. Bauer started off sounding like he I was annoyed I had wasted his time. Despite having a referral from my pediatrician, he made assumptions about the case, did not wait to confirm if what he was saying corroborated with what my son was experiencing and made me feel like I knew nothing about the questions I asked. I am a PhD in public health and have enough knowledge to know when I am being spoken dismissively! We were there for a consult and I am glad I will not be going back.

Our family had a wonderful experience with Dr. Bauer and his staff! We were referred to Dr. Bauer by a family friend. I was a bit nervous going into our appointment. His staff was very pleasant and helpful. His staff worked our inital visit with Dr. Bauer, I did feel he was a bit rushed, however he did exceptionaly well with my son. During take the time to explain to my husband over the phone exactly what was going on with our sons' ears. After exploring all alternatives to surgery with Dr. Bauer, he did perform surgery on our son. Prior to the surgery, Dr. Bauer came to speak with my husband and I, explaining exactly what would be occuring during his surgery. He gave us an opportunity to ask as many questions as we wanted. Immediatley following the surgery, Dr. B came and explained to my husband and I exactly what occured during surgery. He explained the after care instructions and gave us another opportunity to ask questions and to voice our concerns. He had a lot of… patience with us, being that I asked what felt like a million questions... Dr. Bauer was very professional and curteous. Our family is very grateful for Dr. Bauer and his staff!

Took my daughter to see Dr Paul Bauer and we both loved him! She needed her tonsils and adenoids taken out. Surgery went great! The office was nice and we did not wait a long time to get in. I would recommend this office to anyone who wants the best for their child!
