Dr. Paul W Broome, OD

Hello, I am a new transient to Augusta, which I love the city dearly and happy to be a resident. With that said, I made an appointment with Dr. Broome for eye exam a while ago and after his assessment, I had to wait over three weeks to get my much needed prescription glasses. Finally, upon the arrival of the eye glasses, I was told to wear them for 2-3 days for my eyes to adjust. Unfortunately, after a couple days, I had an excruciating headache and my vision had actually worsened. After some back and forth, they took the glasses and reinstate my insurance, but kept the co-pay. When I inquired about it, they stated ”it is for the initial doctor visit”. So I am left with worse eyesight and multiple, daily headaches! My question still remains unanswered from this practice, if they prescribed the wrong glasses and the insurance has been re-instated, what is the co-pay for? This review is not for refunding co-pay, strictly the principal of the matter and care for the patient, or lack… thereof. After all the different eye doctors I have visited in my 45+ years, this was my worst experience and I would highly recommend seeking a new doctor, as unfortunately I give this practice a 1 out of 10.
