Dr. Paul Mitchell Charles, MD

I called the phone number at the top of this page and a woman abruptly answered the phone. I kindly and said that I was from out of state and moving to the Huntington area, and need to find a doctor. I mentioned that I have been disabled on Worker's Comp for 13-years and some clinics won't accept a patient with an injury date beyond 5-years (mine is 13 years). I wanted to know if they would accept me as a new patient. I've had two surgeries and am 100% worse than before, surviving on prescription pain medications. She stopped me abruptly as I was talking and said that Dr. Charles is ONLY an emergency room doctor. I mentioned to her that the vitals.com page says that he's also a family practitioner, which is exactly what I'm looking for. She replied, "No, he works only in emergency." Either the information on this page is wrong, or the woman lied to me to get rid of me. Either way, I'm still without a doctor and have to keep looking. When I asked her if she could direct me for… help elsewhere, she didn't care and didn't have anything helpful to say. I recently heard a television commercial advertising "The Cancer Treatment Centers Of America," and their motto is really good I think... "You can tell when someone really cares!" First impressions are lasting impressions and so far I'm not impressed. I realize that this post is about Dr. Charles, but he's not going to be any better than his supporting staff of medical co-workers that assist him. If the woman entrusted to answer his phone calls doesn't care enough to help me find a doctor, then I'm leery of their entire clinic. I regret calling. So, for the rest of you who may be inquiring, I was told by their staff that DR. CHARLES IS NOT WORKING NOW AS A FAMILY DOCTOR. Kindest regards to others and God bless
